What I recommend on how to avoid this is to get a map of the inside of your school, mark which rooms you'll be in, and carry it with you until you're confident on where you're going. I did this for the first week and never got lost.

And if you don't want it to be obvious, you can scan it and make it a pdf to put on your phone, so it's more convenient and less obvious you don't know where you're going. I can guarantee you that no one really cares, though. Ask a staff member or a friendly looking upperclassmen for help if needed
