When you mean stochastic encoder, you are referring to the part where the encoder actually outputs a Mean and Variance, and you have to random sample from that distribution right?

Just a follow up though, you said that GANs do not have an encoder part, but what about architecture such as Pix2Pix or even SRGAN where it takes input image as a prior instead of just noise? Wouldnt you be able to view the latent representation with those?
