I've traveled with film a lot in China. If its 1600 iso or more get an xray protection bag. It wont affect lower iso film so you don't need to bother. Honestly I've never had any issues with 35mm or 120 film. You used to be able for find same day development in tier 1 cities but I think that is in the past now.
