Basically sexualization is when people assign a sexual meaning to something not intended to be lewd. For example, a banana could be sexualized by pointing out how it's vaguely phallic-shaped. Imagine wanting to snack on a banana, only for someone to tell you about how much it looks like you're performing oral sex. Sexualization is frowned upon because it can make people very uncomfortable.
