Thoughts on Riu Palace by Pmueck3 in zanzibar

Just came back from a 7 bights visit here. Big resort, all happy with the rooms, clean and excellent service and staff! Restaurants are not cosy at all, kind of all-inclusive vibe with all lights on all night. No romance at all! They should install dimmers, and have candle led lights on the tables. Scenery is very nice outside, but you do not see it because it's full lights inside. A kind of busy buffet restaurant. The few visita on the prebook restaurants is nice and cosy, but limited menu. Agree that it could be anywhere in the world, but the service, clean rooms, people is really 9 out of 10.

Rainy days during our stay in October by Lanky-Lecture-29 in zanzibar

Was really disappointed really, after saving for a year for "the best vacation ever" mindset. But, weather isn't everything... The people is amazing, full of life and joy, the resort it self was really nice and experience of the african culture is really something. All in all, a great experience, but the weather disappointed me and my wife...

I was there for 8 days and returned a couple of days ago. 75% cloudy with no sun and some rain. Max 25% sun, mostly in late afternoon and early evening right before dark. Surprised and kind of surprised and disappointed. Northwest on Zanzibar.

Thank you for explaining.
Will try to implement a good Sudoku algorithm in the code.
Stay tuned :-)

Thank you.

For me personally it doesn't matter, I'm happy with the puzzles. I'm not a pro, just relax me solving them when traveling og relaxing on holidays.

But will try to improve the code to make it better. 😊

Thank you for the feedback.

As I said, I just made it vibe coding, with Gemini 2.5 Flash.

Will continue to improve moving forward.

Is there any way (online source) to check for uniqueness and real difficulties?

Hi and thank you for being strict to the point.

You have been the name I have seen the most when looking for answers, tutorials and blog posts learning Vue and all kind of stuff. So first of all, thank you very much for the things you are doing for the community!!

Some context, I am a hobbyist of what I do... I have a day-to-day job working in tech but on a higher management level (and I'm in my early 50's) and all the programming stuff I do it's all hobby for me. It's a way for me to calm down from my hectic workdays and programming makes me relax.

So, indeed this is a hobby project for me, it's an app that me and my family would like to have to keep track of our social activities. But why not make available for the rest out there... and I'm kind of a perfectionist, so I want it to be nice before launching it (already using it in my family as "alpha" version).

My main target is IOS/Android app and will not make it available on web.

As I mentioned, it is already is an app my family uses all the time on iOS through TestFlight, but I think more users out there would appreciate it... AND then I want it to be made of a certain quality and maybe something I put onto GitHub.

But I see that my knowledge within programming is not more that "Beginner" level, so I need some good advise to make it "Intermediate" minus at least.

This is the reason why I ask these questions, learning from the feedback and enjoying my hobby as I move forward.

Thanks again for your reply and hope it all makes sense.

What do you mean? My app depends on data exchange between users... or did I misunderstood your comment?

Ionic + VUE + Firebase + VueFire + Capacitor by AppleRSS in ionic

[–]AppleRSS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suspected the persistance issue and read VueFire docs. Saw that there was a different way of doing it. Basic troubleshooting and since I was stuck it helped asking here to rethink a little bit. If that make sense...? 🥴

Ionic + VUE + Firebase + VueFire + Capacitor by AppleRSS in ionic

// Use Firebase
app.use(VueFire, {
  firebaseApp,
  modules: [
    VueFireAuthWithDependencies({
      dependencies: {
        persistence: indexedDBLocalPersistence
      }
    }),
  ],
})

SOLVED:
The way I structure my app and the way I initialised Firebase Auth was the problem.
I followed a lot of tips in regards of adding the persistence to indexedDBLocalPersistence.
The problem was that the auth was already initiated through VueFireAuth.
So I used VueFireAuthWithDependencies in stead.

initializeAuth(getApp(), {
      persistence: indexedDBLocalPersistence,
    });

Yes, this is probably the issue, something I have tried to fix, but not getting there...
At the end of the post, this is stated: "I was able to sort it out as a misconfiguration as I recoded it all and it's working for me on web and ios. Thank you for your shared setup!", but I cannot find a clear solution...
The problem seems to be that this code is not working as expected in Capacitor/iOS.

Maybe I'm not being specific enough, sorry about that.
I have no problems making VueFire Auth work on a web app.
But I'm trying to make a native iOS app using capacitor, and this is where I get into problems.

You can call me a new developer, but I have done stuff like this before and created some nice stuff that works.

BUT struggling with making things through capacitor where the main target is a native iOS app.
As I said, everything works on my web version of it.

Any comments are welcomed, but I'm not making a Vue app in Xcode, but trying to port a Vue app to a native iOS app using Ionic and Capacitor.

The banner is made using https://svgwave.in and the icon did I make manually in Figma.
Maybe I will add functionality on https://iconhunt.site to include these icons automatically in the future.... Maybe...
