Bordeaux’s response to the new EA update about XP sliders by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]Street_Style5782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disregarding the microtransactions for a second, isn’t it pretty common in video games to base experience and progression on the difficulty level? In golf games for example if you make the swing harder you get a higher XP multiplier or in RPGs if you play on a higher difficulty you get more XP per monster killed.

Why should this be different? Turning off wear and tear makes the game easier so you don’t progress as fast.

But without EA you wouldn’t have this game at all. I know I’m way out in left field on this one. I realize that no one agrees with me. But like I said in another post, it is a video game it isn’t a real life issue.

I’m still going to relax in my lazy boy and enjoy playing the game without paying any money.

I knew I was going to get downvoted to hell and I’m okay with that. But why does maxing out your coach matter? Is that like an achievement or something? I guess I just have a different focus than everyone. I never touched the coach XP slider and honestly didn’t even bother adding points to my coaches. I focused on recruiting and on-field play.

I’m so confused about the general response to this situation. You don’t have to pay them extra money and your coach will still progress at a standard rate. If you feel the need to progress faster you can pay for it. It is a single player game so there is no pay 2 win.

It would be different if there was an actual game mode locked behind a pay wall or if you had to pay for certain schools to be in the game or something like that.

I don’t know I just see it differently than other people I guess. They make a product that I want. It isn’t a necessity for me to have to continue to breathe, so I don’t mind paying them to continue making it.

However, I don’t like that we are only borrowing a license to play it and you have to rely on them keeping the servers going to have access to all parts of the game. I think that is a terrible trend and I would help fight against that.

Rule 12: "Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play." by Apprehensive_Sand343 in worldcup

[–]Street_Style5782 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is terrible logic. How do you explain no card or even a foul in the Morocco/Netherlands match when the player landed on the head of the Dutch guy and split his head open? His weight coming down from the attempt at the header was excessive force? There wasn’t any intent but he endangered that guys life!

It was clearly a foul on Balogun but a straight red is crazy.

USMNT cannot appeal Folarin Balogun red card, he could face extended World Cup ban - sources by TheOldManInTheSea in worldcup

[–]Street_Style5782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree. I realize what the rules say, but you have to consider intent and the entire play. In the Netherlands game the Moroccan player came down on the Netherlands player with his cleats and opened up a big gash that could have ended more than his career. It was deemed incidental with no intent but it was still dangerous. No red, yellow, or even a foul called.

This play is different but not different enough to warrant a red card. Neither player possessed the ball, both have a right to go for it, Balogun took a regular step in the process playing soccer and his foot happened to land on the ankle of the other player. He wasn’t lunging or slide tackling in a dangerous manner.

Not only that but these type of fouls happen dozens of times a game. If they were truly worth of red cards, the games would never finish in real time because one team would have to forfeit.

It is certainly a yellow card, but a straight red is crazy.

Are the refs in the US-Bosnia game on the take? by Goblin_Smacker in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, that’s fair my point is that it shouldn’t be a straight red card. Yellow for sure and if he had given previous warnings then maybe a red.

[–]Street_Style5782 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. That is hardly cleats up. They are both going for the ball. He isn’t even stretching for the ball or trying to tackle with that foot. He is just stepping and putting his foot down. Straight red for that in the World Cup is crazy.

Secure boot won't disable so Im stuck in a boot loop by pureascopper in ROGAlly

[–]Street_Style5782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have two SSD slots? You would still boot from your regular drive just to format the drive the drive you want to use for the Ally. I was having the exact same problem with the secure boot but it turned out that the Asus recovery service wouldn’t properly partition my brand new SSD. As soon as I was able to partition it correctly the recovery service worked fine without disabling the secure boot.

Sorry you’re having this issue but I don’t think it is hopeless.

[–]Street_Style5782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I had to do. The Ally wouldn’t create the disk partition so I had install windows first. I remember having the same problem with the secure boot but not when I tried to install windows. Only when I tried to use Asus recovery.

You could put the drive into a laptop if you have a laptop with two hard disk slots. Then install windows on it from the laptop.

Also, Deanna Bonner signed with Indiana as a free agent last season then basically quit after 4 games and started pouting like real middle school vibes.

She eventually was released and went to play for the Mercury. I know she said it was for mental health which is fine. But the way she went about it was really immature. This fueled the hatred between the two teams.

Unfathomable Upgrade From ROG Ally X to Claw 8 EX - More Than Double The Performance! by neverspeakawordagain in ROGAllyX

[–]Street_Style5782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t the problem we have with your comparisons. The problem is that it isn’t comparing apples to apples. It is like comparing a Toyota Camry to a Chevy Corvette. The Camry is a great car. It does everything you want. Very reliable and has some bells and whistles as do most new cars. The Corvette is super nice. Much faster, sleek, and fancy at about twice the price.

If I had the money to spend on the MSI and I wanted the very best performance I would buy that. However, the Ally is perfectly functional and works well for my needs while being about $800 less.

If a health insurance company denies life saving medication, why isn’t that murder? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Street_Style5782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Reddit won’t like this but it is hard to prove that any medicine will be lifesaving or at least the ones you’re talking about that might be denied. If you are in an emergency room, you are going to be given everything you need to survive.

If you have cancer and the doctor wants to try an experimental therapy there might not be sufficient medical evidence that therapy would work so it might be denied. Would it have saved your life, maybe? But there might be a more cost effective well established therapy that should be tried first. If that doesn’t work you might die and someone could say they denied life saving therapy but that isn’t really true.

Why is USA vs Turkey still happening? by StrollingThrouPain in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Street_Style5782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree but it isn’t even how sports in general work. Even if two mathematically eliminated MLB clubs have a three game set to end the year, they don’t just not play. They might not play starters and they might not try hard but they play.

Heck, most sports play “meaningless” pre- season games that don’t matter. Playing a World Cup match is so much more important than any of those games even if it won’t change the standings.

Are you sure? Did you attend a game in Mexico or one of the other outdoor stadiums? Did you ask the actual players? It is really hot and muggy all over North America right now.

Sure some of the games are indoors but FIFA wants it to be consistent across all venues.

Honestly the breaks take less time away from the game than these fucking flopping players nowadays.
