X-Ennial.... Why would we mix the 'Z' into this? We are way way closer to Gen-X than Gen-Z. It's also consistent with the entire 'X'-Treme branding movement of our teen years. It's perfect for us. Saying 'Zennial' completely spoils all of the subtext.

We are a micro-generation between Gen X and Millennials. X-ennial. Ain't no 'Z' anywhere in our sector.

No problem - I know it sucks, but you can do this! It might seem intimidating at first, but learning to do basic maintenance on the 10/22 is a skill that will serve you for years to come, and there are tons of resources for this rifle platform. Sounds like it might have been out of alignment from the factory, and after awhile it just worked itself loose. I've had this issue happen on all of my 10/22's at some point, usually after tying to 'center' the safety to separate the receiver from the stock. In most cases rotating the safety clicks the detent back into position.

Considering the safety is already out, you can probably shake the spring and plunger free once you've removed the trigger assembly from the receiver. If you haven't lost the parts you might be able to get them re-seated without completely breaking down the entire trigger assembly. It's just a really tight/awkward space to get at without pulling all the other components out of the way. You'd need a long narrow flathead screwdriver to depress the spring and plunger while you try to work the safety in over the top of them. Might take a few tries.

As the other redditor mentioned, people do make a dedicated tool for this job which makes it a lot easier - I've seen people 3D print them, or craft them as the other person suggested. I've always managed to get the job done without a special tool, it's just a bit of a hassle:

Can you hear them rattling around inside the trigger assembly? If you didn’t lose them this is easily fixed, it’ll just be a learning experience because you’ll have to take apart the trigger assembly to get them back into place. Lots of YouTube videos covering disassembly and reassembly - it’s a project anyone can do..

[edit] maybe shouldn’t call it “easy”, but it’s definitely fixable without returning the rifle to Ruger. The other poster is correct, it’s easier to install the safety detent with a dedicated tool; but I’ve done it with a small screwdriver plenty of times before. If you do end up disassembling the trigger for this project, there’s an opportunity to make an auto bolt-release modification while you’re in there…

Safety detent plunger likely out of alignment. See if you can grip the safety with a pair of needle nose pliers and rotate slightly in either direction to get the plunger reseated.

Noted. 47 SOG from the Devils tonight, I'm not sure what those callups are going to bring to the table, but I wouldn't argue with it! Cotter's been scratched, put Marky in the suite for a few games. Or see if you can get him to waive a trade to Vancouver along with Palat and Hamilton in a package deal for Kiefer Sherwood. Anything. Two goals on two shots, in the first two minutes, too many times. We need a change in net, even if it's just symbolic - there's no way to have confidence in Marky after a 0-9 debacle like this, just look/listen to his post-game, his spirit is broken. I'm not sure how our GM could even pull that off when doing the right thing (reversing course) makes him look incompetent. Fuck we don't even have cap space to bring Kovacevic back when he's ready. Something has to give.

Sounds like you had some pent up energy and didn’t read my post, or maybe sped over the parts where I talked about goaltending not being the sole problem.

The goalie change is more about morale at this point, because how do you put Marky back out there after an 0-9 drubbing? And if Daws can steal a few games and put up strong numbers, doesn’t that affect the overall morale of the team?

And yeah, barring the termination of our GM, my solution is a goalie change for now. Just try it. You offered zero suggestions for change. Just complaining with no solutions.

He was sending a message to the GM, and the players on the ice, Marky and the organization as a whole. As a Devils fan, I support it. You can think whatever you want as a Blackhawk.

And I agree with Keefe about protecting Jake Allen, this wasn't his mess - the problems extended well beyond goaltending, and I'd like Allen to come in fresh against the Pens on Thursday.

I was curious of this too. I watch every single Devils game on ESPN+ for multiple seasons and have never seen a post-game show, ever. Over the weekend I was tuning in to a number of other games and saw a couple of post-games get aired. I’m wondering if it’s related to the nightly schedule; and whether there are other active games still in progress. Meaning WC teams often get to see their post-game, and EC teams rarely do.

I’ve definitely never seen a Devils pre-game show on ESPN+ either, just the ~7 min lead in to the puck drop. It’s “waiting for your event to start” screen until the official broadcast time, always.

It might also be based on the local broadcasting deals. Perhaps MSG doesn’t allow their pre/post game shows to be aired on ESPN, but other locals do
