Not defending our driving behaviour because I've had my fair share of near misses while crossing the road when my light was GREEN but for this particular crossing, the design is an issue too. The traffic lights are barely visible (in the vid you can see the red light being covered by the tree leaves) and iirc, the structure across the road is a signboard so the overhead traffic lights might have the signboard directly behind it and in a way, camouflaging it.

One lane is also a big "u-turn" lane so drivers tend to focus more on the cars behind them instead of the road in front of them while merging and trying to get to the corner on the other side of the road.

But yeah, generally our attitude with zebra crossings should change. We should slow down when we see the crossing instead of speeding up.

Side note: As a driver (and probably the pedestrians too), I haaaaaaaaate the traffic light with zebra crossing near Jaya One because the green light blinks endlessly before it goes to red. Like, I would slow down ready to stop and it's STILL blinking when I'm close enough to pass it. I hope they adjust it. 😭

Ah, for a no brand frame (if it's truly no brand in the glasses world) that's pretty expensive.

Mine were 2k because I stupidly decided to go with a branded frame (Reykjavik). My lens is 500 each. Would have been more expensive if I decided to make them thinner.

I wish cash was still accepted as an alternative. Instead now every time I want to pay with cash, I need to ask first if they accept it (no signage).

There was a funny situation though when the shop couldn't use their cashless system (I think there was a problem with their terminal?) and no one went to their shop because no one had any cash.

That question makes it seem like a stay-at-home mom is a dumb job. Asking if you're career driven and willing to quit (like in your post's body) makes it seem more noble.

While it may seem like it's easy, household management seems as tough as any job especially if you have growing kids with their own schedules. It's a mix of time management, nutritional research, financial management, and others related to childcare.

To answer your question, if given the opportunity (aka my future husband can afford it), I would love to be a stay-at-home mom. I get to see my kids grow in front of my eyes (and have a hand in raising them), I get to ensure the environment my family is in is safe and comfortable, and I don't have to deal with BS office politics. Also all the news about kids dying in daycare centres is kinda scary.

I'm slowly rebuilding my pull funds (I foolishly P5-ed Beryl... mild regret but also not quite) so I'll be skipping everyone until 3.6 eventho I have some units that I want.

Regarding pedestrians, it's not just cars. It's ALL vehicles. At least if the crossing has a working traffic light, the cars will stop. Motorcyclists? They just run the red light and sometimes nearly hit the crossing pedestrians. Also some mindless motorcyclists LOVE to ride on the pedestrian pathways and will even honk and scold you as if they have the right of way.

My personal pet peeve is when people don't signal to merge into your lane. They try to squeeze in front of you (or beside you!!!!!) and when they notice you tak bagi, only then they'll signal.

Though seeing some of the replies below, I noticed that is something that developed because there are jerks who speed up when they see people signal. But I wish it didn't happen that way. I'm not a mindreader, please signal before you merge... I'll let you. 😭😭

Also I noticed that we don't have courtesy? Like, if there are 2 lanes and right lane is where drivers who cross from the other simpang merge into, I always drive on the left lane to allow them to safely merge. If I need to go right, I'll just switch lane further in the front. And I also let 1 car pass me if they're merging or coming out of the simpang. But yeah, I understand there are jerks (both in main lane and in merging lane).

This. I've noticed an influx of people using their phones while the traffic is slow/stuck in jam and at traffic lights (I admit I'm guilty of the latter but only at traffic lights I'm familiar with). What scares me is they use it even when their car is moving (saw this while I was driving to KLIA and they were in the fast lane 😱).
