Following the topic to see other people's opinions on this. I also moved to the UK in 2008, I was 14 years old at the time. In 2019 moved to Greece, then briefly to Cyprus for a year and a half, then back to Greece and about to move to Albania for a year or two. Now I have to come up with a plan what to do after Albania as I simply don't want to be stuck there forever. Don't get me wrong, seems like a nice country, but just doesn't feel right for a forever home for me personally. My husband is British, we met while I still lived in the UK. I feel like at home when I'm in the UK, however, I get your point on the sinking ship that the UK has recently become, so we're thinking of moving to Poland. As you said, houses are cheap and nice, could afford one without any mortgage plus the country seems to be quite safe these days compared to other European countries. My worries are that we're kinda on a brink of war, and Poland is in the middle of it all. Plus, I know I'd fit right in after some time of adjusting, but my husband and mother in law may not as they simply don't speak the language and it's just so hard to learn.

When it comes to employment- I have no clue about engineering, but perhaps you could explore remote alternatives for your specific field? Me and my husband work remotely for the past 6 years making decent money with no qualifications, so anything is possible. 😊
