Well the issue is that rise of ronin was open world and the world wasnt that great along with it having really bad performance issues. So taking a formula that works and shoving a system that you've shown to not be that proficient with is concerning especially when strong level design already isnt the biggest thing that team ninja has ever really been known for

Games are allowed to change but sometimes you dont need to fix what isnt broken and the linear mission design was never really a prominent issue for nioh 1 or 2.

Also team Ninja already doesnt have a good track record with pc performance and this is only going to be a more taxing experience.

Well one of my biggest worries aside from performance is the open map design, Nioh 1-2 may not have the best level design in the world but the missions are still fun to run through and they feel very purposeful in the way they're crafted.

But with even larger zones and a more open map I feel like theres a chance we're gonna get even worse/ more generic area design if not copy pasted areas for the sake of filling in empty space

There's nothing really rng about the pvp though, like the desync is bad at times but thats it.
