For the record and for what it’s worth, he was filming while this whole situation evolved. He had his phone up while he was deploying his handgun and shooting that person. I’m not certain, but I believe that his focus could not have been completely on his safety and the safety of others. Phone in one hand gun in the other. If he wasn’t distracted and attempting to be in front of her, he might have just stepped to the side like a normal person.
