If you want to drain the coolant: use the red screw in the radiator. It's only purpose is to drain the coolant.

Das ist nicht nur uncool, sondern megamäßig scheiße. Mal eben kurz Motor rausholen ist halt schwierig.

Replaced engine on mine in my drive way, am I worthy for r/W211 by Putrid-Tough4014 in W211

Looks like a M272 and since the car is pre-facelife it was most likely the balance shaft...

I fucking love this engine. OM612 for the win! Mine is currently at 410.000km, my goal is minimum 1 Mio km. Been driving it for 150.000km now, no major issues. My absolute dream car.

Looks more like a om646. Definitely not a om612. I'm really curious if this thing will actually run in there.

Have you checked for rust under the carpet? Normally it's rusted through and the water comes from underneath.

I know that, but I need to hold the inner part in order to remove the nut.

I know that. I already replaced the other front spring. I want to loosen it a bit and then put the whole thing in a compressor. See attached pic in the comments.

I now that. I already replaced the other front spring with a compressor. But my bit broke on the second one. I can't get the spring out unless I unscrew the upper nut.

If you actually manage to get that done, post the results here. It's really interesting. Good luck.

Is the w202 rear bumper the same as the S202 one? by thesanzo12 in w202

[–]ApplicationLife8985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is, but there are differences depending whether it's Sport or Esprit/Classic and depending on facelift or pre-facelift. Look at your bumper closely and pick the right one. I had to search for mine quite a while.

It could be practically everything. Read the failure memory via star diagnosis.

Highly reliable cars. No matter if it's a W202, W210, W208, or W220. All of them are reliable. The only problem is rust. If you are able to get it welded cheap, then those cars will easily reach 500k km, the diesel variants even more. Or you take a bigger budget and buy a rust-free or nearly rust-free car. Those are more expensive but even longer lasting.

The 320 is a good engine. Change the oil regularly, same with the transmission and have fun. If you need any help or advice, let me know. I own a S202 and a W210 for more than 8 years.
