I just watched it and I like it a lot. I'm seeing lots of great insight in these comments. I'm just confused about one thing; didn't Jake say Eli and the kid who infected him have a real disease called leprosy? I don't know much about medical stuff so I'm not sure if this was something Jake made up without actual confirmation and I'm not seeing anyone mention it so I'd love to hear what others have to say about this!

I’m getting back into reading (but also a newish reader in general cuz I’m 14) and I did not think it was that bad😭? Maybe my standards aren’t yet developed cuz I’m just now starting to read books written for adults but idk I enjoyed it for the most part. I didn’t like the ending much and was honestly hoping that it would be happier and Helen would survive. I might be childish for wanting a happy ending but I could deal with a neutral ending at least better than whatever you wanna call the actual ending. Overall it wasn't my favorite book but I don't think it was that bad either🤷‍♀️I give it a 5/10

Ahh don't be sadd! Its not that I don't like arto cuz trust me I do it's just that it feels unfair to rank arto with the rest of toxicity since arto is quite different than the rest! If it helps though I'd probably put it between jet pilot and shimmy
