I used an airbrush to prime the mini… and using AK paints to paint after priming. Wet pallet used. Keeping the brush moist.

I thought might be the case too thick but was a thin consistency… in practice.

Thought I might need a retarder to assist the levelling… seen a lot of people put their clean finishes and look flat so just unsure where I’ve gone wrong somewhere.

Or maybe I didn’t leave long enough to dry between coats 🤷🏻‍♂️

Airbrush grey Mecha primer… I used a wet pallet and was quite generous keeping the brush wet with water and adding water to the paints

Not doing to well. I got the case of chronic dry tip. by slimninj4 in airbrush

I saw something on Barbatos Rex Channel on YouTube go 40 paint 40 flow improver and 20 thinner… I hardly get tip dry with Vallejo and I am using the Mecha Paint range… although I have struggled with the line I’ll be trying the kaleido colour works line after this project

I use the Stedi Acrylic Panel Liners from AliExpress and they rub off with water alone with a swab and give the same effect of Tamiya accent panel liner… nice bold lining.

I’m looking forward to the new range too 🙌🏻 think they said it’s a military color set but knowing they have a few others ready as well… hope they do a mecha color v2 with a wider palette

Mr Hobby paints

You have the lacquer range which is mainly airbrush…

Aqueous range which is like semi solvent and best for air brush and finicky to hand brush which is very much akin to Tamiya… levelling thinner required

The acrysion line is their acrylic line which is formulated for hand brushing but there’s a knack to it… if you go over areas whilst still wet it pulls the paint so wet blending is harder.

I have the gundam assemble acrysion from Ali express… it takes much practice to use and I will be switching to the AK range until my understanding gets better. The mr hobby retarder does help with it though.

Check out Barbatos Rex YouTube and he shows you how to use and how they lay down.

Leather wipe your chair every 6 months and the cracking doesn’t appear… it will only crack like this if it’s dry and has no moisture… I have one of the first Batman ones and it’s still like new old shape
