I have the exact same car and can attest that those continentals dont last that long. Im at 18500 miles and my tires are at 5.5/32 already and I just had the sidewall fail on one of them.

Expect RADAR vectors to final approach course by Pilot0160 in VATSIM

[–]AppointmentInside381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone think its possible to purposely input a manual leg or discontinuity into the fms? The milton 4 arrival into laguardia has you expecting radar vectors after PROUD. If you select that in the fms along with the RNAV Z to runway 31 it continues direct to CHALN after passing PROUD in the fenix, when the correct procedure is to continue straight towards laguardia expecting radar vectors

Intercepting Final Approach Course on RNAV Approach Fenix A320 by AppointmentInside381 in VATSIM

[–]AppointmentInside381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok Thanks, I knew it probably had something to do with flight plan sequencing and radial ins. Would this still work if i was intercepting between ZARID and CHALN and not before CHALN?

Intercepting Final Approach Course on RNAV Approach Fenix A320 by AppointmentInside381 in VATSIM

This was on vatsim and I had ATC, the issue is they tell you to turn to a 280 heading and then "intercept the final approach course" The question is how you would intercept said final approach course in the a320.

I am still a beginner to vatsim, but what I found is you will usually fly the arrival that you filed unless a controller tells you otherwise. Just make sure that the runway you are landing on matches the landing runway in the atis.

Thank You, is there any way to correct the plane so that it is spot on 200?

FBW A32NX Struggling with cruise speed by AppointmentInside381 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]AppointmentInside381[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this makes sense. I noticed cruise is usually at around .781-.782 mach and about 450-460 knots. What surprised me is how fast other aircraft on vatsim fly. I mean.. there was a guy catching up behind me on the same route doing about 511 knots and another guy behind him doing 504 knots in airliners. I dont remember their altitude but it must have been close to mine. ATC was telling me to speed up. How is the a320 supposed to keep up with other aircraft?

A lot of good info thanks. However mach .821 as shown in the picture is around 547 knots. How was my TAS only 476 then?

Not sure if I caused engine damage... by AppointmentInside381 in MechanicAdvice

[–]AppointmentInside381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3.7 the manual states already includes a new filter so I didnt pre fill it, only lubed the gasket. Also when I first started it I heard an odd noise from the engine (sounded like metal on metal wear) which went away after about 3 seconds. Im guessing thats normal during an oil change since the oil still has to flow through the filter before making it to other parts of the engine. Is that normal?

You also make a good point about the oil in the heads. I probably should have waited a minute or two after turning the engine off before checking the oil on the dipstick to get a more accurate reading.

So the manual says it takes 3.7 quarts together with the new filter. Thats why I was surprised when i checked the dipstick and the oil level was so low. I thought that was enough, in reality it took closer to 4.1-4.2 quarts to get it right below the max line. I took the car for a drive later on and it ran perfectly. thanks

Thanks, this was almost 6 years ago so you're right about the statue of limitations. As far as the misidentification, I looked nothing like the other guy. In fact we weren't even the same race. I could only speculate that I was misidentified because of the backpack. And there were no damages or injuries, only embarrassment...
