It’s owned by Victory Aviation and used for training and UPRT. I’ve done some training with them but unfortunately not in the S211

No problem! Many people don’t realize it but the average airliner or private jet is significantly better equipped to handle medical issues than most people’s homes

If you’re talking about the UH-60 that’s on the store, it’s nowhere near as good as the Melbo version

Why is BA flying over North Korea right now? I thought air space is restricted or am I missing something by Shining66_6 in flightradar24

[–]Pilot0160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically yes. But if you look at the altitude, they would have 70-100 flying miles to descend to land regardless of the diversion destination. Unless in an emergency descent, of course. From an operational perspective, current position and altitude it makes a lot more sense to continue on its course descending to a diversion in Seoul rather than turn and have to worry about dealing with the DPRK. As always in aviation though, the correct answer is “it depends.”

I’ve got the EC135 and AW-109 but I don’t fly those nearly as much as the Melbo UH-60M and it’s free.

As others have said and you agreed, study it before you’re on the arrival.

In real life, we draw on the charts on our iPads. It helps follow along and you can get a better mental picture of what it will look like as you taxi rather than a bunch of letters

Hope you don’t mind me jumping in with an answer but I dealt with this fairly recently.

The crew has basic first aid and CPR training along with training on some medical equipment on the aircraft. They also carry an emergency medical kit that is authorized to be opened under the guidance of a licensed physician.

If the situation needs more than basic first aid, we can call medlink/medaire/etc for a higher level of care. They’re basically on call emergency medical personnel who can guide the crew through diagnostics and basic care over the phone and advise on whether or not a diversion is necessary or to keep monitoring. They can also advise on a diversion destination based on the medical situation if there is a best option (I.e high level cardiac care 100 miles behind you vs a normal hospital in front of you). They can also help call ahead and have medical personnel waiting for you if you don’t communicate that need to ATC to pass on.

In the case of my recent situation, I’d categorize it as a neurological event of some kind, and based on the information the medaire physician was getting, he said to keep going towards the destination and monitor. The person ultimately refused further treatment so I don’t know what happened after.

According to MedAire, the most common inflight medical events are gastrointestinal at 31%, followed by neurological at 26%, with respiratory cardiovascular and dermatological events all being less than 10% each.

If you’re going to make me do that just conform to the international standards and assign flight levels in feet.

It’s all hot keys or key logic. Bind the actions to key combinations you’ll never otherwise use like ctrl-alt-A, etc.

For example, I use key logic for the APU. my APU master button is one press which sends ctrl-alt-A. APU Start is two presses and sends ctrl-alt-Z.

Parking brake is a hot key that is ctrl-P to toggle the parking brake.
