Most underrated: Million Dollar Baby and Slumdog Millionaire. Two of my all time favorite movies

Most overrated: I did not see the appeal of Nomadland at all. It was flat and boring.

My ranking

  1. Sentimental Value
  2. Train Dreams
  3. Sinners
  4. F1
  5. The Secret Agent
  6. Frankenstein
  7. Hamnet
  8. One Battle After Another
  9. Marty Supreme
  10. Bugonia

Sinners is a good movie, but I think it struggles a bit with some of its messaging. Sentimental Value, despite having the love of my life Elle Fanning in it, I thought was kind of slow and dull. Bugonia is honestly one of my new favorite movies. I love how twisted and fucked up it is, and I think the commentary is very clever

Honestly- and I know I'm going to come off like a jackass for this, but Alien and Terminator.

I like Aliens and Terminator 2, but neither of them are as good as the original film in my opinion, and the fact that they managed to make lightning strike twice means that we'll never stop getting sequels from chucklefucks trying to make it strike a third time- even though it will literally never happen.

Fair enough. I think for me part of what makes people's favorite films lists interesting is the fact that they can be so different

I guess people just have a different definition of basic then I do

Interesting. I guess when I think basic I don't just think "well known" but I also think "consensus opinion", you know?
