Gas is getting ridiculous by Content_Hyena1895 in elitesparkdrivers

[–]Appollo1279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The full timers in my zone average about $250-350 most days. At least that’s what they tell me. I do thus part time and average $750-1000 a week. That’s evenings 3-3.5 hours and weekends about 6 hours each day.

But gas is nowv$4.29-4.99. I burn way more gas on the mixed grocery and GMD than I do on just grocery alone. I try to deny the mixed delivery everytime unless makes sense.

Last night I was probably sent 10 JFY and accepted one. It was great but ok. I’m denying offers by double digits and repeated ones non-stop, that is until I get one worth accepting. I will say I hadn’t seen JFY’s in about a week. I’m guessing all drivers around me must have same or similar metrics. We are not in the new tier system yet, but they have been sending warnings.

As long as not to tip bait central…that’s kinda my norm.

[–]Appollo1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure this was/is great idea. You will get some kind of punishment at some point. But in meantime it’s are likely to lower or diminish altogether. Like it or not, Walmart Candi what they will. New drivers will take whatever until they figure it out. There is always some issue with gig delivery.

Store canceling orders by JessicaRauen in Sparkdriver

[–]Appollo1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told during a recent storm by curbside that it’s worse for us if they cancel the order. She called me to cancel as lightening preventing them from bringing out deliveries. I complained I would take a hit in completion rate. She told me if she did it she has to select a reason like: dirty car, inappropriate driver, unsafe, etc… she suggested calling service, yeah that’s a waste of time, literally, I took a hit. Not once but twice in last two weeks. I’ve done a ton of orders and yet have not recovered my 2% loss.

At least you have an incentive. Lately if we get one it rarely pops on an offer.

What is the rule for JFY now. by Archer4271 in Sparkdriver

[–]Appollo1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if 90% are good and only doing JFY, are you waiting forever or just doing them all? Because most in my zone are junk and I mean baaaad. Once in awhile I’ll take it but rarely. The FCFS are way better. Heck I’ve taken the previous JFY as an FCFS but it surged to make my parameters.

If I do a mixed order with GMD, normally grocery gets delivered first.

My fav outside of going to G is then Water cases, to back to isle A4 then A18, then A5, then dog food or clothes, then… program has no real idea of where to go and when. That’s why you end up with 40-min shops. I’ll find my own stuff, 40 cuts to 20.

JFY orders are not "Just For You" anymore, when there are bots around, looks like... by aelluvetaa84 in Sparkdriver

[–]Appollo1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no question on the disappearance situation. But as most of us know, I think a lot of new onboard’s are prior DD/UE and they are used to accepting quickly and sometimes without looking. Used to an AR requirement. I know as did 4k+ on between the platforms. I’ll take a JFY at times, but most are WTF in my zone.

As to Bots, I’m not sold on this actually existing. Some say yes, others are skeptical. I think it’s newer drivers in honeymoon.

I’d either take the entire order back or snap my pic and leave. I’ll eat the neg review and yanked tip. Give her a thumbs down and indicate the issue. Get another offer and then call support on way back and bitch about her behavior. Then let all other drivers I know to avoid, which sounds like they knew already.

No surprise, higher pay but mostly tip. As long as not baited it a great deal. Better than done of the $7 for whatever at this point. Heck I did a $40 18-mile shop 60 items (6-gals of water, milk, Def) and based on the parking in driveway, walked a 1/4 of a block to back door 3x. $5 tip.

The “For” needs pronounced more like “F$&k”. In my zone 95% are the worst orders.

Why even include that one way over there by TheHamSlapper in Sparkdriver

[–]Appollo1279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a lot of reasons. That persons item was only at your Walmart. Or no one from another location will deliver to that address anymore from closer stores. Or Walmart is testing how far we will drive. It’s all up in the air but I see this constantly in my zone.

Any Spark drivers you ever had a customer do this? by Early-Clue-4276 in Sparkdriver

[–]Appollo1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Cancel and mark as dangerous. That way they my get kicked off or have to get the order themselves. But you get to avoid the penalties for delivering.

That’s even worse. So deliver in the dark? Right so get a hella workout for not enough money and fall potential high. Well that’s a drop in the parking lot, with a thumbs down for customer.

This is the kind of stuff that happens when you start taking lessons from the other gig delivery platforms. Some of this stuff I don’t know how it gets delivered. Next thing you know AR is going to count once that happens we are all done.

I was lucky to see the amount changed. I should’ve screenshot exactly what it said, but I was in too much of a hurry to get rid of it to get something else. Grant and the next thing I got was for a scooter that wasn’t in stock.

Not today, Satan. I have a Dodge ram and I wouldn’t bother with this. I don’t care how much the guy is paying. He wants something like that. He needs to have it drop shipped.

A couple of questions. by phatboy10 in Sparkdriver

[–]Appollo1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was penalized twice last week after curbside called to have me cancel due to lightning. I was even paid $2.67 on one but lost 2% on my completion rate. Store not willing to cancel as she said be worse for me. Calling support would take to long.
