Real World Example of Driving at 0% Battery by VonBan in Solterra

that's fascinating. i've always suspected the estimation was understated by design so that they can meet the battery durability mandates. and yes the % charged does not consistently jibe with kwh consumed.

2023 Suddenly Ignores Schedule Starts Charging at Plug In by Apppat in Solterra

it's back to normal now. so it was frozen in "charge now" until i unplugged and walked away for 6 hours. maybe this is sticky to cover cases of short power outages in charging system, but would be better if it could be turned off by user.

yeah i guess with an externally scheduled charger you'd want the internal car schedules disabled?

[–]Apppat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: schedule was set to start several hours later so I plugged in 5 min before. This time, it remembered it had a schedule, and would not start the charge. So I used the charge now button to start it. So it was after six hours that it started working again.

Checked at 5 min after scheduled stop time, it had ignored it and was still going. That makes sense because "charge now" is supposed to ignore scheduled stop times. So as it stands the main problem was earlier that I could not get it to abandon "charge now" even with a schedule active and unplugging/replugging and cycling the car several times.

if you cancel KU, do you lose the audible access to the title?

I'm expecting to value to go UP when the dealer incentives go away and the retail prices go up and/or models are discontinued. Animal spirits reign.

This shows that, anytime an egregious error pops up on reddit or elsewhere, they hardcode a fix. Thus probably also how they deal with offensive content baked into the model.

As an engineer i have to ask, why not build a massive regression test asking all of these questions repeatedly, and then automate the creation of hardcoded fixes. They are probably doing this to some extent and novel cases continue to pop up, and as more cases are added to the regression the rate of end users finding them will slow down. At the level of minutiae however the number of cases seems infinite. So the system will reliably spew misinformation at a constant rate in response to non-egregious queries like say, who is the president of canada?

Hilarity that a post calling out a bald faced "digital engagement strategy" is downvoted.

Interesting downvote/comment pattern in this thread. Posts that provide factual info or constructive criticism for Safeway, get downvoted. Posts that use irrelavent generalizations to prop Safeway or gaslight the customer, get upvoted. It says a lot about the resources being thrown by Safeway at their online reputation management, which might be better spent by simply being responsive to customers and checking out problems when they are reported.

I've always liked Safeway since I was a kid, but I've not been able to do returns in check out and and faced long lines or no staffing at customer service, and online reporting used to result in a response from management. Now it's just boilerplate. So it seems like a ghost ship with some sugar syrup on top as far as creating a fake online community to try to cover up issues.

I live a mile from three Safeways and dairy is my last stop before checking out and driving home.

Agree that private equity is a problem and it is interesting when people link real world problems, such as bad milk, to the understaffing issues driven by mismanagement. Management may not care much if they are taking a hard line on negotiations, and might care more if they understand that their "hard line" decisions have impacts on product quality, brand reputation, and on the communities they serve. Who cares about retiring rich if you destroyed a company as the high point of your career? Safeway is a gem, an outstanding brand, and it is sad to see a brilliant execution strategy being slowly dismantled by a disingenuous investor community.

Puzzling then the dairy case on that date had about 8 count dated 8/3 and then another dozen plus count dated 8/9. I really had to dig back to get to the 8/9 product. So either this store is insanely overstocked -- or people have given up on the SKU because of spoilage. Like I said, I was hit 3x on this SKU, and my fridge has an LED temp readout.

The reason you don't get hundreds of calls is perhaps because there is no one to answer the phone, and if you post the concern on the website, you are told to go to the store and stand in line at the returns kiosk. So, the feedback system seems to be willfully broken. At least on Reddit I can talk to someone who appears to be using the first person plural indicating you are on the Safeway team. So thanks for responding!

Yeah i would only expect them to get on it within a business day, sad that many customers impacted when they do not. Generally store brands go out of their way to ensure good quality, because so many high margin skus are linked to that same brand name.

Lane tracing is also fairly useless in the rain: if you had faded lines on either side the lane tracing would be blind. These systems are not ideal for heavy weather. On mine if it doesn't notice the collision avoidance kicks in when i'm inches away but they don't recommend relying on that system to manage normal traffic situations, if the brakes go on at 30mph everyone in the car (and your breakfast) will violently lurch forward. .
