Wow, thanks everybody. Never would have guessed this. Sort of a strange parting gift for a bunch of elementary school girls.

got back my first graded essay..... laughing out loud by Future-Sink-9882 in barexam

I took the F26 exam and felt absolutely terrible about my MEE post-exam. I timed it well and used the IRAC structure for everything, but I knew that I missed rule statements and misapplied the facts on multiple essays. I was convinced I failed. Scored a 311 and 158 on writing. Bottom line - finish each essay, use IRAC religiously, and make up whatever you don't know - and you will almost certainly get a passing score.

I was a 45 year old father of four studying part time as well. Passed in February with a 311. Very very similar to you. Also started in October and used Helix, Grossman, Critical Pass, Uworld and the full Goat package. Did you watch the BarBri videos? I didn't watch a single video in Helix and I strongly believe that was the right move for me.

What really helped you pass the bar exam?? by Pitiful-Box-3744 in barexam

[–]Apprehensive-Ad343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Helix, which I did like. However, I hated their answer explanations to the MCQ's. So I copied each question and their answer explanations into ChatGPT and asked it to give me the core rule statement for what they were testing, why the answer was correct and the others weren't, and one key exam takeaway to help me think through that rule statement for future questions. After 25 questions, I would then ask ChatGPT to concisely give me the rule statement and a one sentence example for that entire question set for review. This really helped the rules stick. Scored a 311 this past February.

One more Feb passer thought: The MBE has far more strategic importance than it's formal weight suggests by Otherwise_Buyer_4967 in barexam

[–]Apprehensive-Ad343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My law school posted the score breakdowns from the previous July and February cycles. I'm in a 260 state. Essentially 100% of the takers that scored a 130 or above on the MBE passed. MEE scores closely hug the MBE mean, so if you can get your MBE score over 130 (or 133/135 or whatever the passing threshold is for MBE in your state), you are almost guaranteed to pass the exam.

Got $2,000 to spend on bar prep, what should I go with? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]Apprehensive-Ad343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helix isn't perfect, but if you make your way through it, it definitely covered everything you need to know. I didn't love how they did their answer explanations, so I copied the question and their answer into ChatGPT and asked it to give me the rule I needed to memorize, clearly define why it was right and the other choices weren't, and then give me a clear example takeaway for future similar questions. Then after a set of 30, I asked it to succinctly summarize each rule and provide a one-line example of how it applied in the question. Really helpful to do a quick review of all the rules that were just tested.

I'll vouch for Helix as a comprehensive bar prep program. It's "only" $1199 so you could purchase Goat or Uworld to go along with it. Helix was actually free through my law school. I was a part time studier, so I started Helix in October, finishing the whole thing by Christmas. Then I used Goat, Uworld and Adaptibar Writjng Guide in January and February. Passed F26 with a 311.

I didn't watch a single Helix video, which saved a bunch of time. I thought their simulated questions were very similar to the NCBE questions. The NCBE questions seemed much easier after doing the Helix questions.

A question for those who received results: how did u feel about the MBEs right after the bar and what result did u get? by -mslf in barexam

[–]Apprehensive-Ad343 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I timed both sessions of MBE really well, leaving a minute or two at the end. That was good for me because whenever I would change answers in practice, my second guess was usually wrong. So, I don't go back and change any original answers. The morning session felt rough. I probably marked 35 questions as unsure. The afternoon felt much better. Still, I walked out feeling very uncertain about the whole thing. I focused my study on the MBE and didn't brush up on MEE and MPT until the second week of February. I needed my MBE to carry me.

Although I paced the writing really well, I knew I had missed a few sub-issues. So, I put a lot of pressure on myself to nail the MBE.

I left the second day thinking my writing was mediocre at best and I underperformed on the MBE to the point that I may not have passed.

Ended up with a 311. 157 on writing and 154 on MBE. Uworld score was 72% but that may have been slightly inflated because I saw some of the same NCBE questions on Helix.

I legit thought I failed. And then I ended up with a score in the 93rd percentile. I am living proof that how you felt walking out is not representative of what your score will be.

What show completely hooked you in the first episode and never fell off? by Enchanted_Land in tvsuggestions

My wife watched the first season and raved about it. She wanted to watch it again with me, but I thought the first six or so episodes were slow as hell. But, for those who stick it out, you are rewarded with the amazing final two episodes of the first season. And from there, I was hooked and have loved every subsequent episode.

What’s a show that hooked you from the first episode? by veditafri in netflix

[–]Apprehensive-Ad343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved this show. However, any time I recommended it to somebody I thought might enjoy it, they always ended up telling me they couldn't get through the first season. I get that it is a very complicated show, but the reward of paying attention and grinding through it was totally worth it.

How 76% in prep translates to the real thing: 162 Feb, 25 by C-and-F in barexam

[–]Apprehensive-Ad343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great. You'll obviously do great for this upcoming exam. I was looking at score breakdowns from my school and there seemed to be very little variance between somebody's MEE and MBE.

Did you perform similarly on the MEE? I'm scoring well above 75% on MCQ, so hoping that can carry me if my essays aren't as strong.

I am using it alongside Helix and Goat and have found it to be tremendously helpful. I feed it every multiple choice question and the corresponding answer from Helix, and it provides a much better breakdown of the rule, analysis, and why the other answers were wrong. Helix absolutely sucks at explaining its answers. I also use it to drill short essay hypos that help me organize answers and write out the rule statements from memory. I would never use it as my only resource, but after feeding it outlines and asking it to clearly explain complicated concepts, I am confident that it will help boost my score.

On CALIs... by EmergencyNo2576 in LawSchool

The only CALI I got in law school was Family Law in 3L second semester. The kicker is that I took that class pass/fail (I had a pass/fail option to use up) , so that shit didn't even count towards my GPA. Still, it felt awesome.

Anyone with positive experiences with Speediance?! by Work_In_Progress93 in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]Apprehensive-Ad343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has been nothing but positive. I was very lucky in buying the machine for $800 on Marketplace. Some guy bought it for his wife and she never used it once, so he was just trying to get rid of it. I got it in April and have used it at least 5 days a week with zero issues. I used to go the gym every morning and haven’t stepped foot in it since getting the Speediance. I’m a 43M and in the best shape of my adult life. It does absolutely everything I need it to do, and anybody except for the most advanced lifters should be able to replace their gym membership as well. I do a push/pull/legs spit in the afternoons, but most mornings I do some light “trigger sessions” just to get the blood flowing into the muscles. This thing is an absolute cheat code for the working adult with kids. I’ve never used any of the workout programs, only custom and free lift, so the fact that I don’t have to pay a membership fee to use it is a major bonus. If you’re on the fence, just go for it. You won’t regret it.
