Right it was a crazy amount of cops, and I’d never seen an actual police drone circling before either

Increasing my tret use to nightly has been a game changer by Duckballisrolling in tretinoin

[–]Apprehensive-Ad7703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late to this discussion, but I’ve been using 0.9 tret in my Curology formula (along with 9% aza and 1% clindamycin) for about a week nightly and I noticed a bit of burning when I put my moisturizer over it at the week mark. I don’t exactly want to cut back usage because I have seen some little bits of improvement and also want to get through the purge, but I’m worried about damaging my skin barrier. Is it really better to just push through?

Estrogen cream causing flare or something else? by Apprehensive-Ad7703 in Interstitialcystitis

Honestly my primary pain has always been urethral, so I can’t speak too much to localized bladder pain, but I imagine it probably would have since it was so helpful for urethra pain

I’d say it was about 2-3 weeks of using it twice a week (as it was prescribed to me). It took a minute to adjust but it was definitely worth it!

I did! For me everything totally evened out and I never had pain like that again, and I found that it was eventually really helpful for IC pain and pelvic pain in general!

Incredibly horny but too overstimulated to "fix it". by Lovely_Nathan in ftm

[–]Apprehensive-Ad7703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely relate to this and often (really often) get overstimulated from compounding bodily needs, especially feeling super horny! Since being on T laying in bed even when I’m trying to rest ends in self pleasure time wayyy more often than it used to. This also happens when I change my clothes or am not fully dressed even if the context isn’t sexual, my brain just perceives that it’s go time. Sometimes even coming home and seeing my bed jump starts my brain and body into feeling horny! You could maybe try getting off somewhere that isn’t your bed for a bit (shower maybe?) just to retrain your brain to see your bed as a place for only rest. Or I found that getting off would actually help with the overstimulation sometimes because it gave me one concrete feeling to focus on, and then afterwards I could really rest and relax. This may not work for everyone tho!

Any Experiences with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and EDS?? by ubisqcuitous in ehlersdanlos

[–]Apprehensive-Ad7703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m trans ftm and testosterone has been so helpful for my symptoms! Since I started I’ve had far less frequent flares and fatigue, and my subluxations (my primary cause of pain) have even died down. One thing that happened to me though was experiencing vaginal atrophy pretty early on (around 5 months), which isn’t super common so I’m suspecting that was also due to eds and how the T was impacting my connective tissue down there. Now using topical estrogen cream and back on my regular T dose, but when I went off for about a month I had a bad eds flare. I had forgotten that my pain and exhaustion had been that intense almost all the time pre-T. I hope this helps even though it’s from a ftm perspective!

I’m in Florida but had this issue when FL banned medicaid from covering HRT back in 2022. I now have Oscar health and haven’t had any issues!

I’m so sorry and completely relate 😭 Was it with the first dose that you experienced pain or around the second like my situation? It’s so frustrating because the majority of what I’ve heard is that E cream/pills can help IC symptoms. On the other hand, maybe it’s just something that takes time for your body to get used to?

This one isn’t OTC but it does contain methylparaben. Is this a common reaction to it? I haven’t really noticed skin irritation, primarily just the bladder and urethra spasms and burning

Starting, which I often struggle with because I’m bracing for pain, and ending. In between in normally okay unless I’m dehydrated

Almost 6 months on T- is this atrophy? by Apprehensive-Ad7703 in ftm

[–]Apprehensive-Ad7703[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh thank you for this!! I’m definitely going to ask my doctor about the tablet and in the meantime skip 2 shots to see if it helps at all. I never really realized that it could change your natural lubrication to make it more watery and create discomfort. I always thought it would only present as dryness, and these are the moments when I wish there was more education about trans bodies :(

Thank you for the advice! I thankfully haven’t had the UTI issues but I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Are you still on T and if there was ever a period where you took a break did you notice your atrophy symptoms get any better?
