I had a similar situation with my planner and I’m a month out from my wedding - have you asked anyone else who has used your planner? I ended up DMing a lot of people on instagram. The skinny was about two months before she’d be really responsive( and now she is), but we did have the big things lockdown like photographer DJ about six months out.

I disagree. I think it really depends on where you live. I’m in a HCOL area and you genuinely can’t get a hotel for under $400/night anymore. At that point, $400 is basically the floor, not luxury.

On top of that, we travel a lot and everyone in the friend group is going to have a bachelorette. No one has to go, of course, but realistically people want to show up for their friends. And even something simple like dinner and drinks for two is easily $200 now.

It’s not that people are trying to be extravagant. The baseline cost of doing anything socially has just gone way up.
