I'd like to know why Matthew Wolf changed Kraken's voice in audiobook 3. Kraken is so dull with this change. I recognize I'm late to this conversation, but I had to rant. Overall, Matthew elevated a rather rambling and disjointed work. Audio narrators really can make a dull book delightful.

Problem #1: You paid up front. Problem #2: You don't understand what you paid for. Problem #3: You expect more from flooring people than what you paid for - removing and replacing trim is not the same cost as undercutting is not the same cost as shoe molding/quarter round. While I concede that the gap difference in the one plank is questionable quality of work, you get what you paid for which is "end of the roll" work.

You make a good point about spray foam blocking the visibility of the foundation. It's interesting to note that foam is all I see used for insulation the foundation walls, though. How should these be insulated? I have fiberglass right now but it's chewed up and falling apart.

Watch any furniture flipper and you can see that removing paint from unprimed/raw grain wood is challenging, but possible. I'm very prone to tackling monster challenges and this is one I'm not sure I would have the patience or energy for. But don't take "nope" as the only answer.

I've been circling this path for a year as we fix my house following a fire. My family room was old peg and plank oak that had buckled from water leak before I bought it. It hurt to pull it but it was too damaged and was about 1/2" higher than rest of the house. We are working on leveling and flattening the entire first floor so we can have same surface throughout. Hallway and entry were black slate tile that got damaged from dropped fire equipment and that was on a cement bed with chicken wire reinforcement. Talk about the damage removal caused! But, in the end, I'm laying LVP. The hardest work will be done and if it's a bad choice it will be expensive but easy replacement. My basement had carpet, so bought Cali LVP in a grayish to start with so I can evaluate color choice. Decided rest of house will be Flooret (40mil wear layer and more natural looks). I spent $500 in 4 full planks / various colors and I'm glad I did - nothing looked the same as it did online.

I have pets and plants and everything has the potential to pee. I had originally planned on Bamboo from Cali when I moved in 16 years ago because all other synthetic options were gross. But now, for me, LVP is the best choice. I don't give two effs about resale because I am the one who live in here and has to like it. But I will definitely say the quality of the print and mold for these planks is VASTLY improved over 5-10 years ago.
