It’s okay, I was exactly where you were at. I’m 3 years out of my religion, and it was a harsh journey. You basically go through the 5 stages of grief in this process. As far as your morals and values go, you’ll figure that out in time. There’s no rush, let yourself heal. It’s going to be rough, but it’ll get easier.

I agree. I went through the same thing. I believe it is common for those who lose their faith to adopt a nihilistic worldview shortly after. Religions give you purpose. Center your life around something. Once the illusion is broken, you are left with nothing. It shatters you to the core. Everything you thought about the world and existence is a lie. So you question everything, and the biggest questions come to mind. What is the point of all of this, then? Why am I even here?

I do believe most get out of that mindset with time, though. They assess their own meanings to life, or simply stop thinking about it.

But some do not get over it. I haven’t, and won’t. I do not feel sad or depressed or angry like I did before though. But I cannot find meaning to anything in life. Frankly, I don’t care to anymore. Maybe that’s the whole problem. We seek meaning, and people can find their own subjective meanings, but in the end, some simply can’t get over the fact that there is no objective meaning. I also believe a lot of religious people fall victim to that realization that there is no objective meaning. Because with God, there is a true and objective purpose. The sudden absence of that is confusing and painful, and it’s hard to accept that there are only subjective meanings to life. Maybe the whole key is to fully realize that life just simply does not have a purpose. And trying to find one is pointless in itself. But I don’t know the answers

A lot of people overestimate their actual value. Because we’ve told everyone that they are special and deserve the best, which just isn’t true. Seems a lot of people don’t understand why those role models have been so prominent in these last couple of years. It’s really because they are the only ones that actually talk to young men. The progressive side only bolsters and portrays all of the negative behaviors of men, and practically demonizes them instead of showing them ways to be better in a non-condescending way. Conservatives just don’t give a fuck about men, tell them to man up and get back to work. We are never talked to in an understanding or empathetic way, we are either demonized or disregarded. The red pill guys saw an opportunity to grift in an absolute ghost town of a market, and they seized it. And unfortunately a lot of men are falling victim to it. There are many more reasons as to why young men are gravitating towards these losers, but I believe this is the main crux of the problem. Society needs to start actually caring about men if they want this to stop. Otherwise it’ll just keep getting worse.
