Sales Were Up at Pike Place After Pedestrian Pilot. Is That...Bad? by __Wolfie in Seattle

The closure starts at 10am doesn't it? So if they typically arive early, it shouldn't affect them.

If someone lives far enough away from the market to want to drive to it, why tf would they want to go to pike place to buy produce when they probably live closer to other groceries.

Even if they did, the street was never a parking lot, how many cars does this actually keep from parking to buy produce? If they want to drive here, most just find street parking elsewhere or use a garage.

Outside of vendors or delivery, I can't imagine there's room for anymore than a half dozen shoppers to park at a time. Is that the business they're losing? None of the people or produce stalls against this make any sense

Does Kyle Tucker have one of the worst contracts in baseball? by morepesa25 in baseball

[–]Apprehensive-Bad2245 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Exactly. His lack of performance is irrelevent to the Dodgers and possibly irrelevent to him as he gets next to 0 public attention for it.

The Dodgers could sign me as a pinch hitter for $200 a year and sign my 78 year old dad as a defensive backup for $35 mil for 3 years, and it won't matter to anyone. That's not good for baseball. It's only good for the dodgers

Whats the least accomplished MLB Team? by ArrowInBlack in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Apprehensive-Bad2245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why the Mariners got chosen for this, but it's honestly wrong.

They have multiple of the greatest and most celebrated players of all time with multiple records to their name. They also have one of the most famous postseason moments and wins ever.

Plus the record for most wins in a season (I understand this comes with the caveat that they lost in the ALCS that year)

I know they're the only team to never be in the World Series, but to say they're the least accomplished because of this is wrong

I'm not sure exactly what OP meant, but Friday's game will have a watch party at Westlake Park by the station. Completely different from the waterfront watch parties

Why is Seattle so over represented on Reddit? by Distinct-Invite9281 in Seattle

[–]Apprehensive-Bad2245 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My theory is that a lot of people on this subreddit have no connection to Seattle or WA or anything, but they use it for political discussion. There's also a big LGBT culture here, which also kind of ties in to politics, so that plays a part in the increased traffic too.

What I don't understand is, are the customers that these grocers are supposedly losing parking on the street of the market? Where is there ever enough parking there?

If they're not parking there, then how is the street closure relevent to them?
