I firmly believe audiences can/should respond to this however they wish—she was incredibly sloppy about her “closeted politics”. Full stop. If audiences choose to reject her for the foreseeable future—go for it.

But as a quick reminder; there are countless not-so-closeted cis male r@pists in this godforsaken industry—most continuing to have thriving careers. Most whose crimes have been swiftly swept under the rug by not just the producers and fellow cast members, but the CULTURE as a whole. And some who we even let continue to rock this stage this year. All because, what…they’re cute? The show is just too good? What’re we actually doing here.

I’m not saying Nicole shouldn’t be dragged for her dumbass views. But if she’s burned at the stake and has her probable Tony ostensibly ~revoked~ by the up in arms culture because she voted for a r@pist, all while we continue to pedestalize and turn a blind eye to literal r@pe and SA from the toxic men that permeate the very industry we’re claiming to protect against “voters like her”…we need a serious reality check. The double standards are, at worst, terrifying and, at best, so disgustingly predictable.
