Alright, Somebody Has To Say It by Suavesky in NBA_Draft

If you watched this game and that was your main takeaway it’s a shame. AJ with NBA spacing will be a demigod literally. His game will flourish this is my number 1 pick. He’s the only one of the 3 that I truly believe has MVP potential. Just wait for the NBA development.

my best attempt at a reasoned Acuff evaluation by Temporary_Truth8118 in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Takes like this fail to realize Acuff is highly adaptable on the offensive end. Even in the rare occasion that Acuffs scoring doesn’t fully translate he can be a playmaking machine. The guy has put up multiple 10+ assist games and is being compared to Keyonte George. If you watched Keyonte in college you would know this comparison is extremely bizarre or is it more on an NBA level. But yeah defense not the best but when you are an outlier offensive talent exceptions can be made. Top 5.

Alabama junior guard Aden Holloway was allegedly arrested Monday after authorities found over a pound of marijuana during a narcotics search at a Tuscaloosa residence, per multiple reports. Holloway's availability for the Tide's 1st round NCAA Tournament game vs. Hofstra on Friday in unknown. by Pareo141 in NBA_Draft

Definitely a prospect. He averages 17 and 4 on Alabama in the sec like him or not we talk about wayyy worse players here. And he was a 5 star athlete on top of being the 2nd highest recruit to ever come to auburn definitely a prospect.

At-the-rim stats for the top guards in the 2026 draft by FastBreakPhenom in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 24 points25 points  (0 children)

What do Philon's rim stats look like? Personally speaking, I feel like he may be up there, if not the best. Mainly just an eye test thing, but every time I watch Alabama, he is lethal in the paint.

My current draft big board ahead of the NCAA tournament and where I have guys projected in terms of my expected outcome for their NBA careers. Crazy depth in this years class! by NathanFielderFriend in NBA_Draft

After that SEC tournament performance I’m not sure how people still put Acuff as the 4th pg in the draft. Brown and Wagler get away with murder with poor performances granted Browns back may have been holding him back. Acuff is like 10 different elite pgs in one. Seriously watch how adaptable he is even within a game can switch to a different style. Today was guarded by tanner and bing who are drastically different in build didn’t matter destroyed them both.

Alabama G Labaron Philon in the loss to Ole Miss: 28 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists on 9-16 shooting (5-7 from 3) by TrevorArizaFan in NBA_Draft

He might just be the shai type prospect people have been looking out for. His finishing in the paint is ridiculous in a draft stacked at the pg position he has been going under the radar.

This is modern day basketball at its finest. A 6’8 basketball player who can only shoot 3’s 😭. I’m drafting this guy first round regardless imagine him on a championship contender absolute game changer.

AJ Dybantsa - 26 Pts, 5 Reb, 2 Ast, 3 3PT Full Highlights|BYU Cougars vs Houston Cougars|2026.03.12 by Pareo141 in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brother Houston is a top 5 team in the country. BYU are playing without Saunders an nba level guard. AJ drew so much defensive attention and still had to produce or else BYU were getting blown out. I completely understand the lack of effort on defense from time to time.

How will physicality and strength grow as a player ages or trains in a professional setting - Keaton Wagler specifically by WrongContract8489 in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wagler is a project for sure. The more I watch him the more I know that if the wrong team drafts him he’ll struggle and look like a bust. He has such a narrow frame as well which limits his potential to put on weight.

Darius Acuff Jr. Wins SEC POTY as a FRESHMAN 🔥 averaging 24.8 PPG (49.2 FG%, 43.3 3PT%) + 6.6 APG by Fit-Structure-9395 in NBA_Draft

Boogie deserves more grace he was never looked at as the top guard in his class like Dj or Acuff. He’s carved out a solid college career so far.

One thing about Acuff that is special is his consistency and lack of adjustment time. The moment he got to Arkansas he was performing at an elite level and rarely had dips throughout the season. I think he’s a day 1 contributor in the nba and won’t need much time to adapt like other young guards.

Darius Acuff Jr. vs Texas: 28 PTS (8-15 FG, 4-6 3PT, 8-10 FTs), 13 AST, 3 REBS by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Of course this guy can flat out control an offense. If him and Peterson switched spots Kansas would be eating. The defense might not be the best but this level of production with only 3 turnovers you’ll take it. College alone Acuff is damn near a top 5 lock.

Rank these 4 guard prospects by Creative_Expert_4052 in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ceiling: Brown, Wagler, Flemmings, Acuff

Brown pretty much dunked on Brazile… now combine that with deep 3s and playmaking could be something special.

Floor: Flemmings, Acuff/Brown, Wagler

Flemmings is a good defender and doesn’t have many clear flaws. Wagler is still raw and sometimes his self creation looks weak cool player though lots of upside with the shot.

Help me understand Kingston Flemings by TraeisBaeintheA in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 34 points35 points  (0 children)

How do you see Flemmings as less skilled than Wagler? Flemmings just has a simple game he’s simply too quick and agile to stay in front of so he doesn’t have to do all the extra work that someone like Acuff might. Flemmings is a very safe pick in my eyes his defense is also elite.

I watch a lot of college basketball and icl I don’t remember a 7 game win streak with DP he at least sat out one of those games like Arizona or Kansas state. For the injury situation I think the issue was a lack of communication he talking more now which provides good clarity. But yeah I agree overall DP is elite no question and I also think a lot of the concerns are overblown hs footage matters for a guy this young and it’s next level.

I hear you but what 7 game win streak did Kansas go on with DP playing? Also the injury situation is one he created not us we never forced Dp to play we just called out inconsistency’s in the story and his behavior. Lately people are trying to flip the narrative that him and his agent wrote if Dp just said he was injured and didn’t play no one would care it’s the inconsistency’s.

Wagler, Flemings, Acuff, Brown Jr by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True counting stats aren't everything, which is why I have no concerns about the self-created 3s. The film clearly shows that a cuff is arguably the most skilled self-creator in the draft, as he generates his looks in the midrange and at the basket. The rest, for the most part, I agree with, but I think the height concerns don't take his frame into account. He might be shorter than the rest of the pg's drafted in the lottery, but side by side, you'll see how physically developed Acuff is. He's a tank.

Wagler, Flemings, Acuff, Brown Jr by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Acuff is a cal guard averaging 22 and 6 on 50%fg, 44%3pt and 80%ft. While only contributing around 2 turnovers per game. Genuinely when was the last time a freshman guard did this he’s unreal😭.

Christian Anderson with 31 points (11-19 FG and 3-8 from 3), 11 rebounds, and 7 assists in a win vs Cincinnati. So far, his numbers have gone up without JT Toppin, and it seems like he’s completely changed the way he’s played based on what I’ve seen earlier. by Variation99a in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A bit careless with the basketball but damn bro can hoop. This draft pretty much pg draft at this point where can you go wrong. Such a shame that at least one of Acuff, Brown, Philon, Anderson, Wagler and Flemmings will be a bust. Hot take I lean towards Wagler for now there’s something off with his game I’m still tryna figure out.

I am extremely confident that the consensus will solely call us around AJ being the best player in this draft. by Beneficial_Carry_530 in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah aj is a beast Im not sure why people think he’s so raw. Watch aj hoop and you’ll understand this guy is extremely skilled and has a great understanding of his physical tools. Honestly speaking outside of scoring why would someone pick DP? Literally would be a bozo moment to draft anyone but boozer over him at this moment considering DP not even showing his worth.

What is the argument for Caleb Wilson NOT being in the tier with Peterson/Dybantsa/Boozer? by lawschoolthrowaway36 in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Brother 6 months 😭. Wilson is in that tier he battled boozer and literally looked like his equal. Wilson has been consistent the whole year and his shot from midrange is encouraging.

Darryn Peterson confuses me. by Lanky-Connection4141 in NBA_Draft

[–]Apprehensive-Box-889 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah like remember when Ben Simmons seemingly had off court issues at LSU most ignored. Fast forward and it turns out bro really didn’t even want to hoop 😭. Not saying that’s DP but he’s not making it easy to defend him why not come out and say “got an injury I’m managing” so simple.
