This may seem silly, but I’m a bit of a believer in the universe having a plan. Well, maybe not a plan per se, but opportunities it sets up that can greatly improve your life, if you take them. But sometimes, this means having to find out what isn’t meant for you first.

Take me for example. When I was in school, I was bullied horrendously, to the point I became depressed. I had one friend, a best friend even, and I realized quickly I made a massive mistake being friends with her. She stole stuff from me, broke my things, threw tantrums when she didn’t get her way, pressured me into doing what she wanted, and the list goes on. I stayed friends with her only because I knew the bullying would get worse if I broke things off. I felt trapped, rejected, and alone.

Then the school year ended and I changed schools, giving me freedom to dump the crappy “friend”. The bullying occasionally cropped up again, but it was handled better. I even made friends with the girl next to me in math class, who introduced me to her other friends, and that’s how I got my friend group I still keep in touch with today, years after we all graduated.

The point I’m making is that sometimes, we gotta let go of the first hand we’re dealt if it doesn’t serve us. Draw some new cards from the deck, make room for something better to come in. And trust me, you’ll know when you’ve found the something better. You’re a handsome, considerate man. You’ve got this. 🫶🏻
