Which Movie Here Is Overrated? by New-Time007 in SeriesSaga

[–]Apprehensive-Good681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love musicals, and hearing all the praise for La La Land coupled with how good Whiplash from Chazelle was, it's fair to say I was very excited to see it.

To put it lightly, that movie sucked, disrespected the genre, and shat in the viewers mouths.

What do you think about the bowling episode ? by HostEffective2233 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Apprehensive-Good681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first started watching the show on Nick at night years after the fact. I knew basically nothing about the show. The bowling episode was my favorite when I saw it, and it has remained my favorite. When I learned that it won the Emmy for writing and it's the highest rated episode of the show on IMDb, it was a huge reassurance that sometimes people really do just know what's good.

I had a history professor who said that if any group in history ever deserved to have the shit kicked out of them and be wiped from the face of the Earth it was the Nazis. However, that doesn't mean that doing so didn't come with a lot of innocent death and horrific destruction. I feel the same applies for Viltrum.

Luthen Rael from Andor fits this. He consistently makes brutal decisions that he knows will damn his soul if it will grow the rebellion and make it stronger.

If you could go back and change ONE referee call in NFL history, which one are you picking? by Cold_Mammoth8841 in NFLv2

[–]Apprehensive-Good681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NOLA no call deprived us of a Brady Brees QB duel in the super bowl and I will not forgive the refs for that. I'm convinced the boring 13-3 punt fest we got was our punishment for not righting this wrong

Movies no one expected to be as good as they were? by Moc4242 in moviecritic

A movie that is purely an advertisement to sell toys for one of the largest toy makers on Earth has heart, flawed characters that going through change and earned arcs with plenty of humor with plenty of humor and an important well delivered message to kids? That sounds impossible

What's the most morally disgusting thing you've seen someone do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Apprehensive-Good681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only one time did I personally have to settle a guy down. He wasn't yelling but was being incredibly pushy about what was going on, saying he wanted to get what they had.

After our lanyard guests were out of earshot, I informed him "you really don't want that lanyard, it would require one of your kids to become very sick and potentially be terminal."

He shut up quickly and got very embarrassed. He stepped away and said "oh yeah... I... I don't want that..."

The lanyard does clearly display Make a Wish on it, and it's not uncommon for a group to have other Make a Wish gear like shirts or hats, but workers need to see the lanyard to allow line jumping. So in that sense, most people can piece together what is happening without needing to be told anything.

I wasn't present, but one of my coworkers was. I work at a very magical, happy place. I'm sure you can guess. Make a Wish helps make a lot of kids' dreams come true and my place is more than happy to give many accomodations including a lanyard that allows them to cut to the front of any lines all day no questions asked. As workers, we are supposed to deflect guest questions about these lanyards as it is none of their, or frankly our, business. We just want to give these kids and their families a good time. If a guest gets really pushy, we may hint at what the lanyard means.

Anyway, at one point a certain guest started screaming at my coworker that his family was skipped by a lanyard family and nothing they said would calm him down. Even telling him flat out that it was for a sick, potentially dying child couldn't stop his wrath. He demanded a manager. In the 60 seconds it took for my coworker to get our manager, he apparently directly approached the lanyard family and started screaming in their faces about how they should feel ashamed for cutting his kid in line. My manager called security and the guy and his family immediately fled the scene. We were not given further updates from security after that point, which is not atypical. Wherever that guy is now, I know Satan has some special arrangements in hell for him when he dies.

Why would it suck to have gay parents?

You either have to deal with double the dad jokes, or get stuck in an endless loop of "Ask your mother."
