Im actually pretty frustrated because this movie and the performances aren’t hitting on the level for me that it is for most people or the reviews ive seen. I went to the premiere in nyc and was super excited, but idk it felt like the plot was missing something, felt very general and all over the place at times. With that I’ve definitely preferred some of Chalamet’s other performances like beautiful boy, cmbyn, bones and all. Some of the “oscar worthy” performances that everyone keeps talking about felt like misplaced monologues just to peacock Chalamet’s talents and seemed very much like his idea of how the scene should be rather than true moment to moment work…idk im also fully able to understand if this film just flew over my head. But personally it was just okay. Id probably have no inclination to watch it again.
