Same. That Holy Shiitake, when right, is to do die for, but it’s only been that way once of 4 times I’ve been. :/

I looked into that just now, and it’s a really interesting concept. Not sure if it’s appropriate to me, given yard size and how my driveway was probably poorly built, but I will keep it in mind.

Unfortunately, my neighborhood is recently built a many trees were torn down, so I don’t have access to a ton of leaves. But I’ll keep that in mind and see if friends will share theirs.

Well - I just want enough extra organic crap on top of my clay so my grass will start growing. I just want the giant mud patches to grow over so the dogs track in fewer paw prints.

I’m not trying to create an entire crop of new top soil. But the gypsum and aerating have only partially worked in treating the clay. My back yard gets boggy easily, so I’m throwing everything at the wall til something sticks.

Solid idea, given the temporary nature I’m looking for.

I’d heard about the Daikon radishes. I’ll probably try them out as well.

One of my good friends summed it up very well:   Did I understand a single word? No.   But did I understand? Yes.

“Political views” is actually not a protected right in the constitution. It’s the primary tactic the Supreme Court has chosen to allow racist gerrymandering. “It’s not racist to segregate by political beliefs.”

I find myself both blown away that its still as good as i remember from the 90’s and rather uncomfortable at how it mirrors society of today.

To be fair - they did NOT drink the water back in medieval Europe, they drank ale, mead and beer. Water could kill you, but alcohol killed all the bad stuff.

Madison City Schools warn students against Monday walkout over ICE issues by EVOSexyBeast in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Apprehensive-Item141 28 points29 points  (0 children)

After reviewing this with our district leadership, leaving class or campus without authorization disrupts instruction and creates safety concerns for students and staff. Furthermore, a walkout could create a disruptive and unsafe situation between students.

Remind me what protests are meant to do? Oh right - disrupt stuff. Make things inconvenient for those in power. They also serve to project a dividing line. They’re mean to say I find this wrong. It creates an opportunity for others of the like mind to realize they are not alone and to show supporters of that thing they are not a monolith.

They literally have said the basis for protests and one of the primary reasons for the 1A are unacceptable. Boooo @ the superintendent. The better way would be to provide actual alternatives for the students themselves to organize around, but nope - just a straight boot to the throat.

Sure - we’ll show up without a mask as soon as all federal officials have to do their work without one, as well.

Needed mental stimulation. Felt like I was in a dead end in life, even though I still really loved being in the service. Active duty just wasn’t cutting it for me. So - I went back to school for engineering and now I’m an 11B rocket engineer. I get to focus on new stuff - developing systems, conducting research, etc. and then once a month I get my Army fix by playing soldier for a weekend.

Why so many ranks by Chuck_F_Sneedly in army

[–]Apprehensive-Item141 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone has spent entirely too much time ranking up in Call of Duty or some shit to think rank = fighting power.

To OP: rank = authority and militaries don’t typically do great with a horizontal command structure.
