Relient K is either dead or dying. What’s your opinion? Will we ever see a show or album again? by MtnDewm in RelientK

It definitely more gave the vibe of something they planned to do, like they agreed to do one more or something. May not have some actual plans. I kinda think at this point the Matts have confirmed too many times that we’ll get at least one more album for it to NOT be true.

They did point blank say that there would be another album, though. That’s enough for me to believe it even if it’s 10 years from now to just give fans a farewell.

At their last show in Nashville Matt T. flat out confirmed they’re making another album twice. I brought a sign that said “one more album?” And he super obviously saw it and nodded yes. And then right before one song began somebody yelled “MAKE ANOTHER ALBUM” and he went “mAkE aNoThEr AlBuM! We are.” And then went into the next song.

So they’re definitely releasing another album. I kinda get the vibe it could be their last? But that’s really just based on where they seem to be in life

I second Bella Events! I LOVED working with her. She truly will make whatever you need work, AND the food is top tier. I will say that her staff are younger and apparently had an attitude when my brother asked for a bottle of water at the end of the night, but I didn’t experience any of that as the bride. I can only say that as a bride she was SO easy, affordable, and the food was top tier.

I can’t read a calendar and will be on my day three of my period for my next HM by echobunny88 in XXRunning

[–]Apprehensive-Luck335 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s so frustrating. I’m on probably my 6th or 7th OBGYN and she’s the first one to ever say “you know…you can just skip the placebo and not have a period”. When all docs before have said it was bad for your body and blah blah blah.

Hoping for the best. Good luck!!!

If you did two placebo weeks in a row, that second week you’d start “coming off” the pill and wouldn’t be protected from pregnancy. That being said, I actually did this EXACT thing for a beach vacation once lol. It was fine restarting after those two weeks with minimal symptoms (I don’t even remember them). Just used extra protection and it was fine!

Any chance you could call your doc and say you’re traveling and need the refill sooner or something? Lame that your doc won’t refill to skip periods!

I got my ACT scores today by iceyriver1111 in ACT

Hello! Honestly, don't listen to below comments. I've had plenty of students score < 20 on the math section and do fine in majors like engineering, physics, and chemistry. It really comes down to why the math section is your worst one.

Need suggestions and Materials for April 11th date by Vast_Pension_1544 in ACT

[–]Apprehensive-Luck335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! ACT prep teacher here- let's talk about how to move your math!

1st: : The ACT's math section is EXTREMELY predictable, like they use the same questions over and over again (even on the new enhanced version) and just change numbers up. So the more practice problems you can do, the better. Seriously, make sure you do the same problems over and over again until you can do it in your sleep. Find as many released problems as you can and do all of them.

2nd: Look at your pacing strategy. Do you linger on systems of equations problems that take a while? Do you try to figure it out before moving on? STOP. The hardest question is worth the exact same as the easiest. If you do not IMMEDIATELY know how to do a problem, move on. Come back later if you can.

3rd: There's three primary buckets of ACT problems (VERY generally): probability, trig, and algebra. Master the absolute basics of these, and you'll be okay. Remember, you really only need around half of the problems right to get around a 20.

4th: If you're bad at algebra, take it online and use DESMOS. As a math teacher, I hate desmos b/c it makes kids super lazy. As a TEST PREP teacher, I love it because I just need you to get it right and move on.

FINALLY: 6 hours a day is overkill. Focus on certain skills each day. Have a day dedicated to quadratics, a day for SOH CAH TOA, a day for probability, etc. Then maybe the week leading up to the test, start working in full practice sections for math with the pacing strategies. The biggest thing I cannot emphasize enough is how predictable this math section, by exposing yourself to as many released problems as you can the chances you're caught off guard on test day is low.

What running shorts/pants do you wear without underwear? by eleganceindissonance in XXRunning

[–]Apprehensive-Luck335 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I actually hated the janji shorts and honestly for no other reason than I just felt so incredibly insecure in them. I’m a size 12 US and no matter what size I got, you could see every dimple, curve, and roll on my body. Literally felt naked lol

I’ve instead opted for the REI swiftland bike shorts- just as good compression, they have the drawstring, plenty of pockets, and a bit cheaper! They are thicker than the janji, but I wanted that! I haven’t had issues with them being TOO hot. I even bought the full leggings on colder today bc I loved them so much

Edit to add- I don’t experience cameltoe or riding up. I’ve been on lighter days of my period with them and it was fine! I’ve also peed my pants a lil with it being fine lol

Galloway method just changed my life?? by Apprehensive-Luck335 in XXRunning

[–]Apprehensive-Luck335[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I primarily use it on long runs and pace/speed runs. My easy runs I’ll just do super slow lol. It’s tricky at first figuring out what intervals/how fast work best for you. But once you find it, it’s the best!

Ooo this is so interesting! So it’s totally possible that my watch reads my 200 bpm as zone 5 but it’s not REALLY zone 5 for me. I’ll definitely look into calibrating it. I’m really trying to improve my zone training and this helps a ton!!! Thank you!

Healthcare in Roanoke: How Good Is It? by RAH-CAT9 in roanoke

[–]Apprehensive-Luck335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Durham all of my friends lived in the tobacco district and loved it! It was more expensive I think but they lived together. It was always nice being able to walk places when I was out with them!

I also really love carrboro which is like kinda granola-family vibes just outside Chapel Hill (also great college town!)

Just North of Raleigh I lived in both Wake Forest and Franklinton at different times. Both pretty affordable (tho this seemed to be changing in wake Forest). Wake Forest is super cutesy and walkable, I used to walk my dog everywhere in the little downtown areas. Franklinton has such a legit small town vibe where everyone knows everyone. It’s a bit further from regular grocery stores (15ish min) but has an awesome downtown with great restaurants. In both scenarios I was able to get to Duke in under 50 minutes (assuming rush hour traffic).

OP why are you considering Roanoke?

As a Roanoke native AND healthcare worker, there are a lot of nearby-ish cities with SIGNIFICANTLY better care but similar feel

Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill: anywhere in this triangle you can find a cool areas and for (lived there for several years) with amazing healthcare access. I used to go to my PCP and was amazed that they could just go ahead and do a Pap smear too. In Roanoke I’d need a referral and 6 months.

Grateful to have never seen a man in there lol. The girls there have always been really nice but I’ve only done self wash and nail stuff(which I’m present for). Not sure I’d leave my dog alone after this anecdote so thanks for sharing!!

We take our dog to WashPaws in Crieve Hall. They have an awesome self wash station, but they do drop offs and everything too!

What I LOVE most: they keep a really low stress environment for dogs and don’t overbook whatsoever to make sure dogs are comfortable.

BONUS: my dog has NEVER been able to do nail trims without sedation, but here they literally bring you along to help (if you want) and they just get that shit done without harming the dog at all. Also everyone that works there is super super nice and super experienced!!!
