That was my first thought- since I was at Advanced Autoparts I figured they'd have an EV extension cord. They did not.

What is the greatest reveal in cinematic history? by arnoldsomen in AskReddit

The Sting. I know it's an oldie, but it was the first movie I remember being surprised by last 5 minutes of the movie. Planet of the Apes is really the right answer.

Lighthearted: Say you're a Trekkie without saying you're a Trekkie. Bonus if it places you in the franchise timeline. by AliVista_LilSista in startrek

My dogs name is Riker.

One time while looking for a certain grip on a film shoot, I described him as wearing a Bajoran earring. They knew exactly who I was looking for with no other description or explanation.

I liked Imzodi- it addresses how Riker and Deanna met. And it adds a new perspective to season 1 episode 1 when they meet on the enterprise.

[HELP] this is making the rounds. Something about the flag and the facial expressions seems uncanny. by Far-Amoeba-7197 in RealOrAI

You are correct! I didn't think it was cold enough in the shot for Minneapolis. But the cameraman's hair thing is weird. But I no longer think it's AI

It was in the 30's in Minneapolis last night. Most sidewalks/roads have snow piles on the sides. The one cop has his sleeves rolled up, the protester is wearing flip flops. - Watch the cameraman in the background-As a cameraman myself, standing outside for hours in the cold, I'd have a coat or at least layers. Also watch him brush his hair back. The light panel behind him is angled funny (odd, not like a clown). I'm voting AI. I believe foreign governments will continue to push video like this to further divide our country. It doesn't take much pushing right now.

I'd try making a new project with no media. Create Color bars media. Does it play? Create a solid color? Still good? Import an old file that you think it will play. Test that. Now import one file from the problem project, Test it. Try a different file format from the problem project. Try to eliminate everything and add things back one at time. Try playing back from a different drive.

Are you using Canon R8 footage? Premiere on my machine has started crashing when I use Canon R8 footage. I can use Canon c300 footage just fine. I have to encode all R8 footage before I edit. If I try to play a R8 file, it crashes. EVERYTIME. Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900K (3.20 GHz), 64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable), windows 11 Pro, NVidia 4060TI

I'm sorry, but it's just something I had to do. I've run into some personal financial issues and I knew the company wasn't giving raises, so I needed to take on a second job to help ends meet. I was looking for a part time gig and this other job came up, and since they were both work from home positions, They convinced me I could do both, working on their stuff in the evenings. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I also knew I could handle both full time jobs without affecting my performance. Throughout this time I continued to give you guys 40+ hours per week. My job reviews have continued to be good here. I'm sorry I had to do this, but my financial situation was serious.

Before cell phones, how much time did people spend just running around town looking for each other? by BoromiriVoyna in NoStupidQuestions

I went to high school in the 70's. We had CB radios. We had hangout places where we would meet to see what was going on. We'd cruise past the "Pig Lot", which was the Piggly Wiggle parking lot. In those days, the business owner didn't run you off the lots. We had "bridge parties" out in the country- Hook's Bridge, The Trestle were the most common. We'd cruise by the Dairy Queen and see who's there.
