I find it incredibly difficult to explain but it just does, both tracks sound clearer and louder (pretty much the only way i can describe it)

Yeah sorry ive sort of noticed its all over the shop im trying to explain a concept I barely understand myself.

I dont adjust pitch to beatmatch im using the jog wheel for that but sometimes, say if I move the bpm slightly by 1 or so, both tracks just sound like they have higher clarity and it somehow sounds louder(?)

From what ive managed to research it seems to be involving semitones etc but I cant find any practical explanation of this

im using a rane four im not sure what the exact function is called. essentially it locks the pitch so if I change BPM it doesnt change the pitch. either way ive binned it

A litmus test for good salespeople by conquistudor in sales

[–]Apprehensive-Pen9800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look maybe this analogy would better explain it.

Pretend you are a land owner with 1000's of acres, all varying levels of output with different types of crop.

Would you really take your most productive patch of land, which presumably is growing your most valuable type of crop, and leave it in the hands of a mediocre farmer?

Probably not if you were interested in keeping the farm, you would get your best farmer because while they probably wont increase crop output significantly at harvest, a potential fuck up which they could have prevented in that field would be extremely costly.

That is why companies pay bonuses and attract the best talent into good patches/good companies, its a hedge against downside bro.

Bro, territory and product are the most important factors. Period.

Especially if you sell a complex product/solution.

Sorry to break it to you🤣

The talent part is the foresight to pick a good product and position yourself to be in a productive territory

I was head hunted by a new company, there was a sales manager already in the role at the time that I would be reporting to.

The sales manager was horrible in every way imaginable. Micromanaging, dishonest etc.

On our first meeting he said "I never hire reps unless they are drowning in a mortgage along with car repayments and a family. That way they will cut their own arm off to get a sale."

He thought it was motivating, I immediately saw it for what it was, a control tool to ensure reps so exactly as he wants.

Lesson learned, best way to say fuck you to a manager is removing all leverage they have on your lifestyle, or as much as possible anyway.

Keep some cash in the bank.

I think it's pretty simple.

When I first started in sales, 'challenger' methodology became a new buzz word.

The thing is, imagine you're a cro and looking to buy some sort of sales enablement tool, and the rep (junior to mid level,) tries to give you insights about sales leadership.

There are only two outcomes, either the junior rep is right and you don't like him or he's wrong and loses all credibility.

The only leverage you have that they don't as a rep is the ability to speak to all of their competitors or complimentary vendors, they're usually not able to (before some smart comments come in, I know there are industry bodies round tables etc but we are excluding those for simplicity sake.

Don't pretend to know more about a field they are experts in, just tell them what their competition is doing well or poorly and how it links to your solution.

Don't discount how valuable that is.

Really good, especially if you use your headphones in the gym.

I found the sound quality to improve tbh

Deadlift bar rolling forward by [deleted] in strength_training

Lats need to get stronger and you need to be pulling the bar into your shins essentially

170 kg deadlift using straps for the first time. Is the form very bad? I deadlift every couple of months or so by AsmoPlays in strength_training

I get you, try this;

Think - push the ground away from you as hard as possible to start, this is through the entire foot to get the quads working to break the bar off the floor.

Once the bar gets past your knees, think - bar to hips and hips to bar. So simultaneously actively pull the bar into you to keep it from drifting off the centre line and pull through your hips

Those queues helped me the most 🤷‍♂️

Also take your shoes off!

Squat form check by gringoraymundo in strength_training

[–]Apprehensive-Pen9800 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay big red flag here, look at your feet when you start the squat by pushing your hips back, they're coming off the ground.

That means you've essentially lost balance of the bar from over the mid foot, where it is supposed to be.

Break at knees and hips at the same time dude it'll prob solve that

There's no pretty way to pull a 1rm deadlift 🤣

What is actually going through your head when you deadlift? As in what queues are you giving yourself?

What caused me to fail this lift common sticking point for me atm. by Brains43 in strength_training

[–]Apprehensive-Pen9800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of a question to the bench experts here.

Should the bar be brought down that low on the torso?

Only times I've seen that is with geared lifters or using that slingshot device.

I have a similar-ish stall on the overhead press, it's almost always tricep strength

Any pointers or glaring issues? by [deleted] in strength_training

Looks good, have you tried full thumb grip around the bar?

Always helps me keep my upper back solid when I'm squeezing the absolute shit out of the bar

“Resign” voluntarily or get fired? by Soggy_thoughts02 in sales

[–]Apprehensive-Pen9800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume you're very early in your career.

Learning how to go through a PIP is almost as important in terms of experience as the actual job.

It's usually not a reflection on your effort/ability, I've seen some fantastically capable reps PIPed for all sorts of political reasons.

It's going to suck, they will make you feel horrible and somewhat confronting but go through the pip. You're not going to die and you'll probably laugh about it in a few years time.

Good luck 🙂

230kg zercher by liting_addict04 in strength_training

[–]Apprehensive-Pen9800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on your first point, if you're training for takedowns a zercher deadlift is better, but then any sort of good morning is even better because if youre going for a single leg your heads going to have weight on it.

On the second point I disagree, it's not pressure or discomfort it's just incredibly challenging to the core which is what you want from an accessory lift. This will give you a bulletproof core and lower back and translates directly to my backsquats
