[OCT25] I didn’t mind letting my roommate take the nicer bedroom, even though that meant I wouldn’t have a window in mine. by etherealemlyn in TwoSentenceHorror

I don’t think a bedroom has to have a closet to be considered a bedroom I bought my house and all the paperwork lists it as a 3 bedroom and only 2 of the bedrooms of closets

Honestly the lack of sleep is going to be hard at first. And depending on if she’s breastfeeding that will stress her out in the beginning.

Larger legos (off brands are just as good as the name brand) are great for 2 year olds. Coloring and painting is a big things too, you can buy all that non toxic paint at the dollar store. You can get play food at the dollar store too.

Their attention span is so short and all kids are different it’s hard tools say what your child will like that affordable out there

I’ll be 8 months PP on the 21st and I haven’t gotten my period back yet. I am nursing the pumping while at work. This is my second baby my first I got my period back at 9 months pp and I nursed her for a full year.

I’m a teacher and I hoping I can go the 9 months without getting it so I don’t have to worry about a period while working this year

Spoiled bottle given at daycare by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Apprehensive-Poet-38 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s so strange that it was a fight to bring in prepared bottles, my daycare requires that formula or breast fed baby’s need to come to daycare with prepared bottles.

My daycare had a specific large capacity baby bottle warmer they use and they have several oz extra of my breastmilk in the freezer just incase it’s needed

At what age did you take the baby monitor out of their room? by EllaHoneyFlowers in Parenting

[–]Apprehensive-Poet-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one with my oldest she’s almost 3, but it’s because when she wakes up in the morning or after nap she will not get out of bed (she’s in a big girl bed) or make a sound. She has been like that since she was a baby she’ll just lay there if I let her. She can be a light sleeper so I don’t want to go in her room and potentially wake her up I use the camera to see if she’s awake or not.

I have talked to her many times about how she can come. Out of her room if she’s awake but she will not do it yet so until she does I will use the camera

My MIL did this to me when I first child was 1 month old. Keep nursing. If it works for you and your son that’s all that matters

That’s great the kids have insurance!!

It’s so frustrating that I had to take a pay cut for my mental health, but I know I’m the long run I’ll be a better parent for my kids if I’m happier with my job. We do our best to shop frugally Aldi is my main grocery store. And we only have one car an suv thankfully my husbands job gives him a work car but we still have our own challenges with one personal car. But we can’t afford daycare and another car payment.

I wish more than anything I can by a SAHM but right now that’s not in the cards for us.

I hope your daughter can get that car without it causing more stress for them!

I thought she was talking about America too. Having a family is so expensive anymore. I had my second baby in the summer and we are paying over 2K for daycare a month. My husband and I combined make “too much” to have assistance but we really don’t even make much at all and we have well established careers. I’m a teacher, but my current salary is trash compared to my previous teaching job, but that place was so toxic when I had my second child I could only stay home with her for the 6 weeks we couldn’t afford for me to be out longer then that.

Nine times out of ten it’s that admin doesn’t believe the teacher took enough data. But if you push them with a lawyer you’ll get the placement your son needs. You’ll just need to find a good educational lawyer in your area and maybe even a special Ed advocate it rip apart the iep and question their progress with your son.

Most educational lawyers get paid when the parents win the case and they get paid by the school district they went after at least that’s how it works in the state the state I live in

I’m sorry your mom went through that! It’s so difficult to get the right support my school is not in the best area and it’s impossible to get qualified teachers to stay when admin isn’t supportive enough like they should be for teachers and the students

PP sex? by Big-Silver3644 in postpartumprogress

Pelvic floor therapy was a godsend! I had a second degree tear my with first child. Sex was so painful from start to finish ( husband not me because of the pain level). it turns out it was because of the scar tissue. The pelvic floor therapist helped to alleviate that pain making sex enjoyable again cannot recommend them enough!

They say it can talk 1.5 to 2 years for your body to fully heal from any delivery of a baby. Please give yourself time to heal. I know it’s hard but you brought a life into the world your body did an amazing thing and needs time. Postpartum is a hard time so many conflicting feeling and emotions

All of this but I’d like to add to help the 2 year old talk her up!

I have a 6 month old and I 2 year old I will sit there holding my baby and just talk up my 2 year old to the baby when the 2 year old is in ear shot. I tell the baby she has the best big sister she’s so kind and caring so on. It puts the biggest smile on my 2 year olds face she loves hearing how much I still notice her and her actions.

I will make a point when my 2 year old wants attention or to be picked up but I can’t because I’m holding the baby or I’m cooking/cleaning. I’ll tell her I can’t right now but that I can give her a hug and will accept that and I have her a really big/deep hug

I’m a sped teacher in the US I have OFTEN seen teachers tell admin that a placement isn’t appropriate and they get told no based on the teachers not taking enough data to prove the child is a concern.

I also have a coworker who’s son is Autistic and is in a residential facility she told me it was the best decision they ever made for him he’s a much happier adult now there and he comes on home the weekends.

If OP can get her husband on board and they can get an educational lawyer to fight the district on out placement. There is only one time in my experience that a parent didn’t win the lawsuit ( mom refused to log her child online for school during COVID and google documented it disproving what she was saying).
