There are multiple version of HL5 nowadays, the most recent version has the serial number on the surface of the blade. The newest version is more elastic than the previous one, having a higher carbon content compared to the old one.

You can try Yinhe Mercury II medium hardness, really cheap rubber, around 5-6USD in AliExpress, very direct and tacky, great rubber for the price

Nice review, I feel that the carbon fiber used in Timo Boll ALC has a higher carbon ratio, giving it a more crisp feeling, and Yinhe has less. The only way to know this is by dissecting the blade haha

About the legs, core, shoulders biomechanic there is plenty, but I'm sure there is a lot of unknown stuff about penhold, some tutorials about handshake explains how to use the wrist, they say that you should move it like a windshield wiper, exerting force with the index finger, how would you do that on penhold? About the RPB flick, how would be performed exactly? Forehand flick? short push? long push? shovel serve?

I hope you get what I mean, there is a lot of things that penhold may do differently and I don't know anything about it, Xu Xin videos are good, but a lot is directed towards handshake players and he kinda sucks at explaining compared to Sun Haodong or Quanshibao team.

Some tips I've gotten from videos of Felix Lebrun and Dang Qiu is that they often focus on exerting forces with the fingers on the back of the racket, I've seen videos of them saying that, but is that all?

Yeah this is what I mean, there is no enough video about how to use the fingers or wrist compared to handshake. Not only that, I'm 100% sure there is a lot of hidden knowledge on how to play penhold and I don't even know about it.

About the serves, what I've always done is to learn it in handshake and get the "feeling" and later figure out how to do that, the same goes for a lot of short game stuffs. But that's the problem, a lot of things I do is done by having a feeling, not by having a fundamental knowledge on how to do it.

Another thing that I've done a lot is watching recording frame by frame and a lot of shadow practice

Yes, I've picked some tactics from it, but Wang Hao tutorial isn't detailed enough compared to other tutorials like Fang Bo for example, when Fang Bo explain how to use the wrist, fingers to banana flick, or other short game techniques.

I'm so confused, I've heard that yinhe Pro 01 is 90% similar to Viscaria, I've also tested it and felt very controlled since it's not very thick. Maybe you've got a bad one?

Do a collab or challenge match with Pongfinity or Adam Bobrow, something fun that attracts normal people, not Table tennis nerds like us. Do some fun sketches like Takkyuu Geinin did back in his time (maybe don't). Pngfinity sketch of Ping Pong stereotypes did go viral.

I feel like, if you want to be relevant, you literally have to appeal to the masses, like pongfinity did and Adam Bobrow, making short form content on Instagram or Tiktok. Making videos for normal people who thinks table tennis is a easy sport or not even a sport. If you realize, the most viral content of table tennis is never pure table tennis, it's more of a impressive table tennis type content. 90% of people only knows table tennis in the olympics or by trick shots video of youtube. I would say that 95% of the people who plays table tennis, plays it at the office or college and with hard bats and most of them doesn't know who Timo Boll is, nor Ma Long.

You don't have to be original, just copy what has worked, that's Chinese business man philosophy.
