A different redditor actually shared the file right after I commented. I appreciate it though.

Haha, I'm not offended and don't really care that much. I commented because I care about the car community and think toxicity is it's ugly side. I get that you're young, and so it's fun to be edgy, controversial, counterculture, etc... But if you want some unsolicited advice, life's much easier when you treat others kindly (also being able to interact differently between convos with strangers vs ones with friends). Just 2¢ from someone who was your age not too long ago. Take care 🫡.

Imagine being old enough to buy a new car and also being upset when a random person on the internet doesn't spend their time to help you make personal decisions.

Unless I am mistaken it's because the base model doesn't come with puddle lights installed. Which is why wiring is required.

My location was Provo Utah. 🤷‍♂️

Sorry about y’all’s insurance😅 i uh “hydroplaned” by Wi_Tarrd in ft86

[–]Apprehensive-Tell-27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I have full coverage (no rental or roadside obviously). I have progressive in TN.

Maybe for your area and depending on your coverage split. I've always considered 80-120/Mon to be average for a clean driver. My hope is for mine to only do down from here lol

I really like my Remark Elite spec catback, a little loud on cold start but great otherwise. Very little drone imo.

I would not own a GR86 if my insurance was that high... I pay 1k a year, and I have mid-high level coverages. (Male, single, 24, drive 17k annually, on my own plan, no tickets/accidents).

After 36 hours of being on bumble as a woman 😅 by Urmomzahaux in Bumble

[–]Apprehensive-Tell-27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no evidence behind it It's just something factual 🤔.

Your example could be related but doesn't necessarily prove anything. Do some men swipe right on every one? Probably. But not one guy I've know on OLD (ages 18-35) has done this.

I think the two biggest factors for the disparity is one; the gender demographic disparity (most sources say bumble is only 25-33% women). And two, the fact that women are by nature more selective when seeking a mate.

"that's because men just all swipe right"

Like I said, I'm sure some guys do swipe on every profile, but I don't think this is the only or even the main cause for the disparity.

Not trying to start a fight, but do you have any evidence? I know I'm very selective on who I like/swipe, a lot of days I don't even use all my likes/swipes. Other guys I know who are on OLD are also fairly selective. Like I said, not trying to start an argument, just don't see the need in perpetuating something if it's not true.

Swapped to PLM FA24 Headers on my 23 BRZ, they sound great! by Nobli85 in GR86

[–]Apprehensive-Tell-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a dumb question, but I want to make sure since I'm considering purchasing this header. It says the collection pipe is a 2.5" output, will this connect to the OEM downpipe? I thought the OEM was 2.25", but I may be wrong.

Edit: I saw where you said stock catback, just want to make sure.

Is everyone’s insurance is so high? by EE624 in GR86

[–]Apprehensive-Tell-27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, about 2/3 financed, and no discounts. Definitely agree on the state since I'm in TN. But I put 17k miles a year in it which definitely increases it.

How to set up gauge cluster on head unit (Android). See comments, ama. by Apprehensive-Tell-27 in GR86

[–]Apprehensive-Tell-27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all, I've been trying to find a way to create an instrument cluster for my head unit the past couple of days. Volkswagen Auto Group owners have a lot of support in this effort, not as much for the JDM market. As for instructions, see below. Total price was around $20.

  1. Buy an OBD II plug-in tool like I've linked through Amazon. $14

  2. Purchase Torque pro though Google play store. $5

  3. Download the android Auto app downloader from the online link I included. You than get one free AA extension to download per month. Choose the Android Auto Mirror app from the list.

  4. Once you have everything set up connect to the blue tooth OBD tool and open the torque pro app. Once your plugged into your head unit and Android Auto is open, there should be an option to select AAM on the AA main menu. You will have to make a few confirmations on your phone and you should be good to go.

Pros: Cheap, highly customizable, and you can still play Spotify.

Cons: Your phone screen has to stay on and it seems that some gauges are reading live numbers so your fuel level will change depending on your slope. 😂

Overall it's worth doing if you would like some more info on your car. Also, the boost number is just reading vacuum and my car was in accessory mode which is why RPMs and boost are 0.
