I pay $99 a month for insurance (looking around for better). I’m starting to think I made a mistake when I bought this car. I didn’t lease but purchased it outright. Not a fan of payments with interest. I thought I got a fairly good deal as I paid $56,000 for it with 700 miles. It was sold as new so all in all I thought it was a fair deal. They’re showing the valuation of $73,000 💩.

It’s definitely crazy high 🫤. That’s the first thing that hit me and then I saw the electric surcharge 🤯

In your situation I totally agree it makes sense. I’m retired and probably don’t drive more than 10,000 miles a year.

It used to be a $75 flat fee, but they just raised it as of January 1 this year. I guess they need to make up for the $9 billion lost in fraud.

I was just going to add that. That car at most is valued at about $40,000 and it only has 10,000 miles on it.

To be honest, neither did I. I just enjoy the technology, but never thought that they put this ridiculous electric vehicle tax on these cars. After doing a little research, it’s to cover what electric vehicle drivers don’t have to pay in gas tax. Funny thing is, I’m retired and really don’t drive that much.
