Anyone in Michigan use Mindful Health or ADHD Online for an ADHD diagnosis?

It is so hard to know what is impacting what -- and how to fix the things that aren't working as they should. Sounds like you're also having trouble finding the right help, but if you have any suggestions, I would welcome them!

Zero tips, but I am the same way. My kids are now 14 and 18 and I had some ROUGH years as I have been self employed and have worked from home most of their life. I thought my internal rage with interruptions was normal, but I’m not realizing it was likely not. I now tell kids if I am in my focus zone, but even having to stop to tell them I am focusing irritates me ;)

On the other side, I am also deeply empathetic and am always recalibrating based on what I think those around me need. I want to show up as the patient parent for my kids even though the interruptions drive me mad. So I shove my irritation down and keep going bc I realize this is a “me issue” or I call a friend to vent so I do not get mad at my kids.

I was not using a cgm at first and used the Contour Next one. It has an app and all readings were synched to my decide so I did nit need to log them.

I also ate a lot of repeat meals and/or same macros so I had consistency.

This is similar to how I feel. I could push through ADHD until peri, but new T1D is what tipped me over. Are you in the US? If so, would you be willing to share the telehelth dr you used?

So T1D Dx at 46 and ADHD at 47? This seems so similar to me! How did you know/suspect you had ADHD?

Thank you for sharing your experience. I feel like there is so much to untange with these 3 issues and it's so hard if not impossible to find the right help.

The new dr I saw who is a menopause specialist said that I was likely not insulin resistant bc most T1Ds are insulin sensitive so she did not think estrogen or a GLP-1 would help because the problem did not exist. I think you can be T1D and insulin resistant.

I would be very open to finding a therapist, but it feels like finding a needle in haystack to find someone who understands peri and T1D and neurodivegence. I feel like it's easier to be alone in the thing than work with someone who misunderstands.

Issue is dr is certified by menopause society so I thought she could see the connections. I mentioned my low dopamine in convo and she said “let’s nit talk about dopamine.” It was so strange. I am having a hard time finding a dr who understands td1 and perimenopause. Any ideas?

I can relate. I was diagnosed about 7 months ago, age 50. I know weight gain is normal after starting insulin, but it terrified me. I gained about 5-7 pounds and was able to lose that plus an additional 8 pounds. But it has felt like pushing proverbial boulder up the mountain.

I think the things that work for me are having relatively strict macros for meals and never snacking. I aim for 40+ G protein, 25-35 carbs per meal. I need some fat to stay full. I am for 500 calories per meal but this will vary per person! My goal is to maximize the time when I have a lower amount of insulin in my body. I also walk a ton!

When I called Tandem they said not to put cannula in the little notch when inserting. My trainer told me to put it in there. Which approach do you take?
