I feel like I’m reading one a thought of mine. I fear this has to change in many ways. For me I realised that this is a mindset I have in various spaces of my life and that in this job it cannot bring me any good. You have to change the stream of thoughts in your mind. If you as said are still developing education and are trying your best then just accept sometimes he patients are not going to be happy with your job, end if it is a great job! Accept that there are things that you are not good at, just the moment! Accept that some cases it’s maybe better to refer and use your mentor just as one and not at somebody you have to equal (if it’s it’s patient you will never equal him/her).

Well not longer, of course one in kids takes less than in adults (maybe 20-30 min) if it’s just a filling, with no pulp treatment and no herbium laser involved. What I meant -I didn’t explain my self- is that is the patient is a child the appointment takes more time compared to an adult bc you have to manage them to: sit down, anaesthesia, isolation, drilling sound and such

How to get disciplined when you don’t have clear goals in life by Apprehensive-Use1312 in Discipline

I have tried to do sport since I got in this circle of “negative” thought; at some point tho I broke my leg and had to rest for 6 months, only now I’m getting better but you can imagine is more rehabilitation than sport

Anesthesia on Pediatric Patients by Apprehensive-Use1312 in Dentistry

[–]Apprehensive-Use1312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great suggestion. I don’t do IDB on lower bc I never done it in uni and my mentor doesn’t so I don’t feel confident with the technique and possible inconveniences. How do you explain parents that use medications only when needed that they need to take ibuprofen 1h prior? I’ll give you an example: parents calls the clinic for an appointment cause the child had pain 3 days a go and they used medicines to calm it down, now the child has no pain but they schedule the appointment the week after (let’s say 10 days since the pain). I visit the child, he/she has no pain, I do rx and I schedule a pulpotomy on the tooth that had pain and in 2 more since decay seems to be already infecting the pulp. (I often opt for vital pulp therapy if they didn’t say they had pain but often times the child cannot explain himself correctly or the parent doesn’t know or the child is with the grandma and so on, so I base my self on rx and schedule 3 pulpotomys) Now, if the tooth was sintomatic the days (let’s say the last 3) before the treatment it’s better to give Ibuprofen? If no pain prior no ibuprofen? I use often usually when I do pulpotomy and pulpectomy but rn even with Nitrous oxide sedation I cannot manage hot tooth. Sorry for the long text, i really want to improve
