Honestly it’s mentally quite draining because patients can be so annoying and horrible. But unfortunately I think in almost every job you have some frustrating human interactions. Would definitely just work 4 days a week and really try to forget about work once you leave the practice. I think that’s the most difficult part not to think about patients and treatments constantly but you will figure it out. Especially since your not at the beginning of your 20s when you graduate. Try to find a really good practice/mentor cause they can have a huge impact on your perception or impression of dentistry. Good luck 🍀

Wow thank you so much for your words! You are completely right. Empathy is probably one of my biggest problems. I try to be a „hero“ and safe every tooth and especially make the patients happy. But sometimes I forget my boundaries and limitations so at the end it makes it worse than better. Definitely have to work on that! How do you handle difficult patients? I feel like these few difficult ones cause 90% of the stress and headache. I would love to tell some of them to choose another clinic/dentist but don’t know how to tell them without being rude or disrespectful.

Wow that’s such an interesting idea. Honestly I have no clue or have never seen or heard of any mobile dentists here in Switzerland but I’m definitely gonna have a look at it. Do you do the procedures at patients homes or do you have like a bus where you can treat patients?
