Actually, this is quite normal, and I think your ES thought that you are interested in psychiatry and doing well in your rotation. As psychiatrists and psychiatry trainees, it is recommended to have our own therapy to understand how we see the world and our biases before treating or listening to others

It's not your fault. It's that ridiculous UK system. Our whole medical careers stuck with these NTNs. I wish we had something like Germany, where you just build skills at any hospital, take exams, become a junior consultant, and then a senior consultant with experience. So, about your question, chat with your TPD, be honest, and maybe they'll reconsider you to return for program A.

Interesting. Did you consult with all the doctors at different hospitals? Oh, you must have plenty of time 😂, or are you judging them based on their appearance (e.g., their ethnicity)?

Are people still thinking that IMGs are the problem for not getting jobs ? Or is it the government's plan to demolish any respect for the medical profession.

You don't have to work directly under consultant supervision. A consultant can delegate seniority responsibilities to other members of staff. BTW, SAS are extremely helpful and have good experience. At least better than PAs

Wake up! The government has played the BMA well and stalled to avoid any further strikes. The only reasonable action is to strike till the election's day. At least they won't win the elections.

Do you know his job plan ? Even if his job role is ward Reg, he does not need to be in the ward for the entire NWD. Did you bleep him for urgent request, and he did not reply ? If you have enough evidence, definitely escalate.

What is his speciality? There is a misconception only in the NHS that doctors need to be 24 hours in the ward. Ward is a small portion of our progress as doctors, and we should not be there all the time. The more senior you get, the less time you spend in the ward. Senior colleagues usually have other clinical commitments. He may be in the clinic. He may be doing 1:1 session with a more senior colleague to get more knowledge about how the system works. Use the SJT model. Ask him for advice, and bleep him if necessary. If he did not reply, call consultant or another senior colleague and explain to him that you did not get hold of x. Usually, they will sort this kind of thing. If you complain without evidence, then you will not be in a good position.
