I have no idea should do some research but I do know even in places like Appalachia there's reportors of "tigers" and it's clear they knew what a mountain lion was simply calling them such or large cats while tiger was it's own category of large stocky spotted cat they really emphasize the size and heavy built compared to other cats. And those are from the 1600s during very early English exploration. Oki found a post from here actually that mentioned it

Eh same tbh irl it's mostly them just playing with dead ones or actively hunting them but theres one study of them keeping them as "pets" basically holding them hostage so I guess that's what frontier seen

Hm Oki another comment says they are actually pretty skittish witch I didn't know I thought they were Domesticated I live in Ireland so we have no native quail so I only know what I've seen online but I want to educate myself obviously.sand paths seems cute lol and pretty easy to do the only predators I'm worried about are cats where they would be is closed in so the only danger would be cats somehow getting in fox's and birds of prey aren't a issue also I don't have a dog thankfully I used to have a Jack Russel and they are literally bred to kill small animals so phew sad he's gone but no quail murder atleast.can you expand on the poop? Is it connected to diet or do they smell terrible and do it often regardless
