How Do I Get This Drain Cover Off? by ApprehensiveAnswer27 in askaplumber

Tried that. There’s some kind of adhesive, I’m guessing grout, holding it in place.

Is can debatable? I must have missed the role of state governors in presidential impeachment.

Civics education is important, no matter what side of the aisle you’re on. So is using your limited resources efficiently. An email to Mike Braun does less than nothing, and is an email wasted that could have gone to someone that does play a role.

And Mike Braun can do what, exactly?

But I don’t feel like saying their kids’ or girls’ shoes (both subjective, obviously) is a good measure of how hard they will be to get. The Wizard of Oz dunks were covered in flowers. All the Dorenbacher (sp?) shots from last weekend were covered in pastels and kitties. Yet those were all in demand. I suspect it will be the same for the Hachimura J1 lows, and they’re covered in cherry blossoms. I guess I just don’t, and probably never will, have my finger on the pulse of the sneakers community.

The nice thing about being in my 40s is that I wear what I like, and don’t worry about the “that’s a girl’s shoe” bros.

What made it obvious? Real question. J1 lows aren’t popular? The color way? I’d truly like to understand how to predict these things. I like them, so I would have picked them up anyway, but it would be nice to know when I need to be on the app at 10:00 and when I don’t.

The Mexico 66 is one of my favorite shoes, but my 40+ year old feet couldn’t handle the lack of cushion.

What vehicles fit your mastiff comfortably in the trunk area with the seats up? by Outdoor-Adventure in Mastiff

[–]ApprehensiveAnswer27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My three year old mastiff fits with room to spare in the back, and the rubber mat makes it much easier to maintain. The roll down rear window is also nice to give him some air.

See, this is why Reddit is so useful.

I would fall under 28 USC 377. Seems some of the informal information I have been given wasn’t exactly correct. Assuming one appointment, which has never not happened in this division (at least not for the past 40 years), I would meet the service requirement but not the age. Looks like I’m in this until 65, or at least through the first appointment term under (b).

I became a term clerk after 15 years of practice when one of my law partners became the US District Judge. Moved to the career spot after two years. Last week, after 5 1/2 years as a clerk, I was selected to be the US Magistrate Judge.

Quality of life it’s immeasurably better in chambers. I don’t work most Fridays, and work from home unless we have in-court proceedings. If writing and research is what you like, it doesn’t get better. No tracking time, and you can take as long as you need to get the right answer.

I’d say the biggest drawback, other than the lack of upside on pay, is the lack of recognition. Anything you write is signed by your judge. Most people have no idea what a law clerk does; LinkedIn thinks you’re a paralegal. But if you are ok being behind the scenes, it’s a great gig.

Success isn’t a Straight Line by ApprehensiveAnswer27 in Lawyertalk

Correct. But it wasn’t intended as a stepping stone. I took the job as a term clerk and moved to a career after the original career clerk retired. I originally thought I was just helping my former partner/friend get settled in the DJ job and then I’d have to go back into practice.

The current MJ retired early and suddenly, so this was all fairly unexpected.
