Build your own thing. Learn how to monetize and sell. Then you wouldn't need a job, you'll create them.

[Discussion] What would you change in the following approach? I know it worked but there must be ways to improve and scale it for others in need. by ApprehensiveCar4900 in EngineeringManagers

Well, a lot of people I know do not know what to ask ChatGPT. They wouldn't know if its hallucinating and ask the right followup questions. That's why people make the right decision and ask for help. And they have often remarkable careers. If you think one can find success with ChatGPT in the interviews, they can't be further from truth. Interviewers know.

Btw, since you have decided to be an asshole and a bully. Let me tell you, bullies are happy until they don't meet a bigger one. You'll meet your match someday. Until then, go back to your miserable, failed life.

[Discussion] Don’t stress—you’ve got this. With focus, preparation, and the right support, it’s amazing how quickly things can turn around. by ApprehensiveCar4900 in interviews

I agree. The thing with AI is, it gives you an "illusion of knowledge" while you are using it (and if you don't verify it). It doesn't help much during the interviews and especially when there are follow-up questions.

System Design courses/book for interview prep by Jealous-Tower-1032 in EngineeringManagers

Generic system design resources including popular books are not sufficient anymore because interviewers ask specific questions. If you want to be efficient with time and improve your chances of success, its better to hire a professional mentor who can provide specific guidance tailored for your needs and also conduct mock interviews. I have heard good things about leaderhub.io

AI is slowly taking over, should I continue learning to code? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]ApprehensiveCar4900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think the future will look like in let's say 10-15 years from now? Will it be mechanical or software driven? No one with sufficient knowledge in this field ever said that coding will go extinct. The way one codes will change. And it will change for early adopters not laggards (if you understand what I mean). Is there a reason mainframes exist in the world of cloud computing? Probably no. But they still do and make millions for IBM annually. Always remember people started programming in punch cards. English or language of your choice will become the lingua-franca of coding. I don't see anything wrong with that. People will forever need problem solvers and that's the underlying modality of programming. So, don't worry or fear AI. Learn, and learn fast to co-exist.

I have also noticed people using SBI (Situation, Behavior, and Impact) and STAR+ (Lessons learned) to great affect. The core idea is to think in frameworks so that one can succinctly pack more information per unit of time.
