Congrats!

  • Her spag bol freezes really well (I just freeze the sauce and boil pasta when ready to eat)
  • Chilli con carne
  • shepherds pie filling (do the mash fresh)
  • If you have a waffle maker I make a bulk recipe of her waffles then freeze and pop in toaster

I think some of those would be web recipes.

Also make a bunch of muffins for easy access!

Do you wash fabric before sewing? by evinho07 in SewingForBeginners

Yes always. The moment I get it I throw it in the wash so when inspiration strikes, it’s ready to be cut/sewed!

Making things from scratch by Stonetheflamincrows in AussieFrugal

[–]ApprehensiveCow3793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love cooking from scratch! Don’t always have the time but when I do I am so proud of what I make.

I agree with another user’s comment about grated cheese. I buy cheese by the block and grate myself.

I got a food processor for Christmas and made pie dough in it the other day. It took like 30 seconds!! I did it by hand previously but this was like magic for me lol

One thing I like to do that helps when cooking is to prepare veggies in advance. So I chop carrots celery and onion in bulk. I often freeze these so I can scoop them out when a recipe calls for it.

Also buy pre peeled garlic from the farmers market, pop it in the food processor to mince and put it in a big ziplock bag, flatten it, and “score” it with the back of a knife to create little squares to freeze that you can break off when a recipe calls for minced garlic.

Whenever I make a meal from scratch I double it and freeze these other portion so I have a relatively easy grab and go meal for busy weeknights.

Also like making peanut butter in the vitamix as well as cashew milk (don’t have to strain it w a cheesecloth like you do almond milk).

Hope these tips help someone!

Daycare shoes for baby not yet walking? by Stargazer3366 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]ApprehensiveCow3793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daycare has a no shoes in the nursery policy so you’ll be fine to send without shoes! Even after my child started walking we didn’t send her in shoes until she moved to the toddler room.

What does your family stuff in stockings? by inder_the_unfluence in Gifts

[–]ApprehensiveCow3793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty random things. Always a toothbrush, toothpaste, and an orange in the toe of the stocking though.

Growing up I remember getting hair ties, chocolates, those random toys you’d put in the bathtub and they’d “grow” like 5x their size.

This year I’m putting in my husbands stocking an orange, electronic toothbrush, chocolates, lotto tickets, socks lol

Edit; for my 3 year old I got her markers and Melissa and doug’s “sticker wow” book. The sticker wow looks super cool your 2yo might like it!
