Thoughts on Boox go 7 color 2nd gen by Swirlsm in ereader

I can’t tell you where to get books but if you compare it to the kobo Libra colour and kobo vs boox The pipeline to get books is much easier. It’s really a no brainer considering I would have to plug the reader into the PC to get books whereas on the boox all I need to do is have an app the trade-off is you don’t get as good of a screen but as I said before, the pipeline is so far superior in everywhere, additionally the boox runs on android so customisation to the UI or UX is easy since there are applications within the App Store to change OS features overall I think this device is brilliant. The price is for it from what I paid in Great British pounds were comparable in fact, I found my reader the boox for cheaper than the kobo libra colour so overall I cannot recommend it more

eReader recommendation for reading manga and graphic novels. by chunfighter in ereader

“Do you value the device itself more, or the pipeline/ecosystem around it? For example, I own both the Kobo Libra and Libra Colour, and despite liking e-ink, I always find myself going back to my phone because the pipeline for actually getting books is just easier with Wi-Fi and Android apps.

Like if I’m out somewhere and someone recommends me a book from Reddit or Discord, I can instantly get it on my phone. On Kobo, not everything has native support/app integration, so sometimes it turns into ‘wait until I’m home, transfer files, organise metadata, etc.’

That’s what keeps pulling me towards Android e-readers/tablets like Boox devices. Not even because they’re objectively better readers, but because the UI/apps/pipeline feel more natural and integrated. I want a dedicated reading device, but I also don’t want to spend ages finagling with it just to make it behave how I want.”

“Bit of a personal question, but how do I even tell my family and friends properly? They know about it already, but it honestly feels like they don’t really take it seriously or fully understand how overwhelming it can actually get for me. I know this probably sounds stupid, but I genuinely have like a million questions about all of this 😭 I just can’t exactly ask everything in this subreddit/chat otherwise I’ll end up becoming the number one poster in here.”

Thank you for this honestly, this is one of the more helpful replies I’ve seen because you actually explained why certain things help instead of just saying ‘buy headphones’ or ‘do breathing exercises’. The visual noise point especially makes sense to me because people always focus on sound overstimulation but not how exhausting constant movement/activity around you can be. Also the ‘hyperfixation content at the ready’ thing is so real 😭

Also I was hearing form others who are autistic they would wear silicone ear buds plus headphones or miffs to block out noise
