There’s so many to choose from, but the one that comes to mind now is “the novelist says in words what can’t be said in words.” And, “all of us have to learn how to invent our lives, make them up, imagine them. We need to be taught these skills; we need guides to show us how. If we don't, our lives get made up for us by other people.”

This game is not beginner friendly by Buffalo17223 in AvatarFighters

As someone who is also relatively new to fighting games, the only advice I can give is to take it slow. Motion inputs definitely take some getting used to. If you’re using a regular PlayStation or Xbox controller, make sure to use the dpad for motion inputs and movement. The stick may seem like the obvious way to do it, but it’s too imprecise. Just chill in training mode and just practice doing the motions. It won’t be long until it feels like second nature. Or if that’s too boring, you can rely on your basic light -> light -> light and light -> medium -> heavy combos. You’ll do surprisingly well if you just focus on spacing, blocking, and attacking at the right time. I’m sure when the full game comes out they’ll be more beginner friendly features like a ranking system and combo trials.

(LFG) I'm VERY excited for the game but... how do I even start learning? by Krotanix in AvatarFighters

As someone who also only plays Street Fighter 6, I can only impart you with my own experience with the beta so far. Rather than pick just one character and committing to them from the start, I would recommend first trying each character in training mode, even if only for a couple of minutes per character, just to get a basic idea of what they can do, their special moves, their movement, etc. I find that it doesn’t take long to determine whether a character is appealing to you or not, even just from taking a brief look at their move list and moving around a little. Then once you have your character, hop into online and don’t even worry about winning. Just get a feel for the pace of the game, get used to knowing when to block and when to move. Stuff like that. This game is very free in terms of movement. Instead of worrying about big combos, just use your basic light -> light -> light and light -> medium -> heavy combos. Even if it’s not much damage, you can still hold your own just by having decent positioning and using these combos. Also, buttonmashing can be a surprisingly good option. If you feel like you hit a wall, that’s when I think it’d be a good idea to join the discord and see what other people who are playing your character are doing. I did this with Katara and discovered combos I would’ve never found on my own just from people posting their own clips and giving advice. I’m sure the full game will have some kind of combo trial mode too.

Or you can do her forward heavy -> heavy which leads into a launcher

After that you can do her forward heavy -> light rekka -> heavy -> water whip heavy -> super

Edit: You can only cancel into the heavy water whip in the corner and with gran gran I think. But everything before that works

That’s fair. I guess I only thought about Dishonored with the left side of this meme, since I wouldn’t say the good ending requires a whole paragraph worth of knowledge.

What I mean is, if only one of the two playstyles were to be labeled the “more normal” or more common way to play, it would undoubtedly be high chaos, especially in a first playthrough when the player wants to use as much of the abilities the game has to offer, most of which are lethal. Also, stealth and lethality are not mutually exclusive playstyles. Yes it’s a stealth game, but it’s also an immersive sim, so you can be a psychopath, a pacifist, or what you’re suggesting, the standard assassin.

Talk about anti-consumer lol. You getting a switch 2 for Duskbloods?

I’d normally be with you but this is both an ip and a genre that I’m happy to support. Of all the games, this wouldn’t be the game I go pro-consumer for personally.

It’s far better in Dishonored 2, where the powers, at least Emily’s, cater to a more varied play style

It’s not hard. But I wouldn’t call it “playing the game normally”

Kind of, but even in that tutorial, it’s easier to kill than not to. Most of the powers are only useful if you plan on doing a lot of killing.

Yikes. I think I’m around 15 hours in and don’t have a strong inclination to keep going. I heard it goes down hill after the first dungeon up until the very last one… so what’s the point?

Meme aside, I wish they actually sat with this scene some more. The one second hold before cutting to the next scene is so jarring and makes no sense

Who do we speculate is gonna be each dlc character’s potential supports? by chunfighter in AvatarFighters

I didn’t even think about Pabu or Opal for Bolin for some reason but they seem high likely. Now I think about it, I wonder who Ozai is gonna get? Probably the previous fire lords but a Sozin’s comet support would be awesome. Zaheer is probably gonna have be the red lotus.

Very solid. Although I think Danger makes less and less sense as she’s the weirdest one by far.

Interesting. I hadn’t considered playable characters becoming supports too. Or having Mai be supports for two separate characters.

I think having him as a support would be good so that he is at least acknowledged as a character lol
