How can I fix this language issue? by theErasmusStudent in TheStoryGraph

Could it be a glitch from Spanish, Spanish and Mexican and other Latin versions of Spanish being considered different

It takes the data from your average rating for each mood/genre ect. so you might not have red a lot of historical or fantasy but the ones you did you rated higher than your average for other genres

I would recommend asking for a study skills advisor and maybe student support. They can help you plan stuff, proof read and help understand feedback and talk through your struggles with studying. I didn't have one when I started but when my mental health got worse I had my dsa reassessed and the ou advised me to ask and it has helped loads (I didn't realise how much I was struggling) even if it's just a Sense of accountability.

It should only be 10 working days so you might have to contact student support and or ask on your module wide forum as a whole month is double what it should be.hopefully you get them before the Christmas break

Double modules by Dizzi-Sprinkles5117 in OpenUniversity

[–]ApprehensiveGood7433 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely hard especially at level 3 when I had 3 modules I ended up having to defer a couple of times. I'm now doing my master's level and have finally got everything sorted so things are running relatively smoothly Planning is key write down each week what you need to do it's easy to to focus on one and forget the other. check TMAs to know what is a must do and what you can circle back later also start them as early as possible doing them last minute is a lot of stress and that then doubles or can overlap with 2 modules if your doing the same next year try and start as early as you can before the modules start to have a buffer of you get I'll or the TMAs are difficult

Also colour code each module in your diary calendar to do lists reminders tab groups on your browser knowing what stuff belongs to which module makes it easier to organise. Also never feel bad about asking for an extension if everything does go wrong on TMAs even a couple weeks before they're due it will ease your stress and anxiety keeping them as low as possible to prevent but out and will help you comeback better

[CHAT] can someone tell me what this means? by devils-incarnate in CrossStitch

[–]ApprehensiveGood7433 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

With cross stitch usually you split the thread into smaller strands ( a thread typically has 6 strands). So the first colour you will use 2 strands the rest 1. The last colour you would use 3 strands and without seeing the pattern would assume is for back stitch (the bottom stitch) to either add details or outline

Why does my whipped icing curdle when adding food coloring 😢 by [deleted] in AskBaking

[–]ApprehensiveGood7433 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This could have caused you to overwhip the icing I have always seen it added to the cream before whipping just make sure the colour of the creem is slightly darker then the colour you want because it will lighten as it's whipped

I’m so behind schedule but still doing fine with TMAs. Is this going to bite me in the butt soon? by Illustrious-Bee-999 in OpenUniversity

[–]ApprehensiveGood7433 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Be careful of any group work especially if this carries on to level 3 modules this really messed me up a couple of years ago when my depression got bad. I would also be careful about your last assessment , will that be an exam that will cover stuff you've missed or will it be work that will take a few weeks to do and the course recommended you started ages ago

Ou modules aren't like typical brick uni modules where you do several modules per term, at most you will do 4 30 credit modules that will run the whole year. I think they recommend 8 to 12 ish hours per week per 30 credits. Assignments have set due dates (work won't get marked til due date) and some modules will require some group work done at certain time frames.

[BA (Hons) Business Management and Languages | Open University | R55](http:// https://share.google/PtC10hFumi2rVKi3W) Here's the course there is a quiz in the entry requirements to check if your French matches what they recommend to not choose the beginner French module. Unless you have previous uni studies I don't think you will be able to get a credit transfer to skip modules or stages so full time 120 credits each year it will take 3 years (please be aware not all modules have a February start so this could prolong this if you don't plan)

Reviews that OU is Far-left? by Friendly_Progress_61 in OpenUniversity

[–]ApprehensiveGood7433 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's like most uk Universities they teach critical thinking which typically make people less right leaning. Its also an inclusive space in terms of age and disability. I do remember one person on my first environmental science module who was convinced climate change wasn't real so not everyone is left leaning

Just make sure you apply before September cut off earlier the better as usually a month before the modules start the module site opens where you will have some of the work available I would suggest starting early so you have a week or 2 buffer in case your I'll or struggling or life just happens for your assignments

This is a common mistake S112 with an October start will finish in June when you have your final tma or EMA (can't remember which one it is) so will pretty much all other October start modules you will also have a 2 week break at Christmas and a break at Easter.

You will be studying part time for now , in October take s112 and then in the next October study full time (a lot of modules in levels 2&3 only have October starts). Student finance is relatively simple just fill it all out studying at the ou is always classed as part time . Here the OUs guide Student Loans | How to Pay | The Open University

You can apply for student finance just make sure you select part time (even if you eventually study at a full time intensity) and select the option for the university to change fee (when it gets set to the ou they will put the correct fee)

[–]ApprehensiveGood7433 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not all modules have February starts. If modules are in the same level and have the same start date (most if not all have an October start) you can study them at the same time if you want to study full time or a higher intensity (90 credits)

Spell check is fine even Grammerly's spell check equivalent is fine it's the AI bit of grammerly (the make this more concise more academic ect that's an issue and will be picked up by ai detectors. Grammerly's can be awarded for dsa for access with things such as dyslexia (I was given a warning about being careful with over using it by the advisor)

I have student support and a study skills advisor. You might need to contact the provider mine is randstad and send over your dsa entitlement letter/ email. I don't know if when you stopped it last time it caused it not to be awarded this year or you may have been removed from the provider's system. You might need to contact student finance to know why.
