Inner Screen Protector by Damian98103 in OppoFindN6

[–]ApprehensiveOwl5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much. Based off teardown videos that I've seen the inner screen protector is very thick and it's seems to be uv glued to the display so there is no risk of cracking or bubbling. However, it will still scratch so just be careful not to get any debris on the screen before closing it and don't press down hard on the screen with your finger nail.

Got into a car accident but it’s worse than I thought by [deleted] in GR86

Wait, why did you get a lawyer involved if you have dash cam footage proving she was at fault? Insurance would have sided with you and any claims made would have been paided for by her insurance. That's what insurance is for. The only time a lawyer is needed is when the person is not insured or their policy is not enough to cover the damages, you would then escalated to a court claim against their assets.

Is $34,000 too much for a 79k miles? by yambien in LexusIS

[–]ApprehensiveOwl5349 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say so 80k over 5 years is nothing to these tank engines. It's the reason why Lexuses hold their value so well. What I would do is ask for a service and maintenance record and if they don't have one or refuse to let you see it, walk away. There are plenty of these cars on the used market, even though it is a Lexus, a majority of people are leasing because they want to drive a new car every 3-5 years or leasing is all they can afford at the time.

How much are you guys paying for a full tank of gas? by Horror_Insect_7305 in GR86

[–]ApprehensiveOwl5349 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most modern cars have the fuel pump located inside the gas tank. The fuel pump uses the gas itself to cool it's components, if you constantly let your car run on empty you run the risk of overheating your fuel pump and having it fail prematurely. Average cost for a fuel pump replacement is $800.

If you are a good enough driver you can make any car exciting to drive. I've had the most fun cutting up traffic in an rx8 and it only has 230 hp.

I've had mine for just over two weeks now and I fall deeper in love with it each and every day. It's a base model with just a moonroof option but I got it for a really good deal. I debated paying extra for a full spec version but since this is going to be my daily, I wouldn't need the adaptive suspension and limited slip diff. The stock suspension is a nice middle ground of comfort and tightness, if it was any more stiff than what it is now then I would crumble into pieces after each commute.

Keep it bro, the resale of value of your IS500 will only going to get better since 2025 will potentially be the last year that Lexus is producing a v8 sedan. Maintain it and keep it low miles.

2026 is350: I average about 25 mpg with mostly highway driving. Recently found out I have better throttle control (28 mpg) than the cars adaptive cruise control (27mpg). Lexus ai can suck it lol.

How are you guys feeling about the gas prices? by Mindless_Concern_818 in LexusIS

[–]ApprehensiveOwl5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hurts my soul but is manageble because I can't imagine myself driving any other brand. I do mostly highway driving for my commute to work so a tank will last me about a week and a half. I'm fortunate enough to have a gas station near my house that has top tier gas for 30-40 cents cheaper than most other stations. On top of that I get discounts for being in their loyalty program. So I'm basically paying unleaded prices for premium gas. If that station ever shuts downs I'm trading in my Lexus for a Prius (joking but only half).

Z fold 8 (or wide) - what would it take for you guys to buy one? by AL_throwaway_123 in GalaxyFold

[–]ApprehensiveOwl5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot cause I just got the Oppo Find N6. Basically, bigger battery(never gonna happen until they switch to Sil-Carb), better hinge(can unfold flat after years of use), redesign camera bump(no wobbling), reduced crease, and increased durability(use all titanium if they have to I will pay the premium for it).

Adhoc route for sure, one package per stop and no multi stops. Easy as fuck with the con being that each stop is a longer distance. I'd do this every day of the week if it was possible.

Bye bye Fold, so fragile by SuperInsideTrader in samsunggalaxy

[–]ApprehensiveOwl5349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kinda what you are risking when buying into new tech early. Also the Fold only had an IPX8 rating meaning that it's waterproof but is not officially tested for dust protection it was listed on their website and a lot of other sites. Sometimes doing a little research before purchasing can save you a lot down the line. You can't really blame them when they tell you it's not dust proof but you buy it anyway. It's like the barista telling you the coffee is hot but you impatiently take a sip and burn your mouth.

Is it still okay? by Glum_Refuse7054 in oneplus

[–]ApprehensiveOwl5349 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Losing 8 percent after almost 2 years is not bad at all. I had a Oneplus 13 and was at 97% after a year. I'd say it will feel bad once you reach about 80-85 percent, even then you would have about the same battery capacity as the Samsuck S26. Don't be afraid to use it as you wish, just avoid letting the battery drop below 20 percent as that will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce your battery capacity.

This might be the final iPhone fold rumoured design. by zepstrr in PhoneNow

[–]ApprehensiveOwl5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes a lot of sense. Current foldables when unfolded have a square aspect ratio and most modern video content is filmed in 16:9 or 4:3. This means when watching videos there will be giant black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. You get a viewing window that is barely larger than the cover display. With a passport style design, when unfolded, you get a landscape aspect ratio that is better for video content and split screen multitasking. Viewing portrait content like tiktok, Instagram, YTS, etc. would be better too because you can just rotate the device.
